THE WEEK AHEAD

Tuesday, November 5th at Baton Rouge

This is the first time in franchise history the Inferno will face off against the Baton Rouge Kingfish. The Kingfish are 3-7-1 and in last place in the Southwest Division with seven points.

Friday, November 8th at South Carolina

The Stingrays are 6-2 in the Southeast Division, 3rd place. Columbia has played four more games than the Stingrays in the regular season. This is the first of eight meetings between the two teams.

Saturday, November 9th at Augusta

The Inferno is 2-0 against Augusta this year. The Lynx are in last place of the Southeast Division with a record of 3-7.

LAST WEEK

Friday, November 1st Columbia 3 JACKSON 4

The Bandits scored a late third period goal to steal the 4-3 win at the 18:19 mark. Chris Pittman scored the first goal for the Inferno with an assist to Dennis Vial at 14:11 of the first period. Jackson's Reagan Rome tied the game in the second period at 7:24. At the 9:13 mark, Justin Morrison answered with his sixth goal of the season with passes from Vial and Rejean Stringer. Jackson went up by one goal in the third period. Robin Carruthers tied the game with 5 minutes to play. Tim Smith and Sean Owens assisted on the goal. Patrick Couture made 24 saves.

Saturday, November 2nd COLUMBIA 3 Arkansas 2 (OT)

Defenseman Dennis Vial scored 34 seconds into overtime to give the Inferno a 3-2 victory. Chris Pittman scored on a power play goal set up by Justin Morrison and Tim Smith. Rejean Stringer tied the game at 2 a piece with only 0:56 into the third period. Morrison and Denis Martynyuk assisted on the tying goal that pushed the game into overtime. The Inferno outshot the Riverblades 42-21.

Sunday, November 3rd Columbia 4 ARKANSAS 5

Two third period goals by Arkansas' Ernie Hartlieb, the last with :23 remaining in the final period, put the Riverblades on top of the Inferno, 5-4. The Inferno were trailing most of the game, when Dennis Vial tied the score at the 18:41 mark of the second period. Denis Martynyuk answered with his second goal of the night just :48 seconds later to give the Inferno a 4-3 lead.
