CONDORS TAKE DOWN FRESNO

Bakersfield ended the Fresno Falcons four-game winning streak on Friday night with a 4-3 victory at Selland Arena. Three of the Condors four goals in the game came on the power play, including Jeff Goldie's pair in the second period. The game was tied at 3-3 after 40 minutes, thanks to a couple of late power play goals for Fresno during the middle frame as well. Rookie Denis Ladouceur scored his second goal in as many games with under five minutes to play, and that proved to be the game winner. Kevin St. Pierre recorded the win, and the Condors outshot Fresno 31-19 in the contest. Bakersfield improved to 2-0 this season against their Highway 99 rivals.

GULLS DEFEAT CONDORS ON SATURDAY

A week after being trounced on home ice by Bakersfield, 7-1, the Gulls earned their revenge in Bakersfield's building with a 4-1 win on Saturday night. They scored two in the first and two in the second for a 4-0 lead after 40 minutes. Jamie Cooke scored the Condors only goal during a third period power play. Despite holding the Gulls to just one third period shot, Bakersfield could get no closer. The game got physical in the third period, with Gulls defenseman Dennis Mullen taking out Condors center Jason Jackman with an illegal knee-on-knee hit that knocked Jackman from the game. Mullen was ejected. Two big fights late in the contest were decisive in the Condors favor, setting the stage for the next rematch after Thanksgiving in San Diego.
