Sher-Wood Player of the Week nomination: Mike Cammalleri
11/1/02 vs. Worcester: Assisted on all three goals scored by the Monarchs. All three goals were registered on the power play. Attempted three shots in the game, and finished with a minus-1 plus/minus rating.
11/2/02 vs. Portland: Scored the Monarchs first goal to tie the game at 1-1 mid-way through the first period. Attempted four shots in the game and finished with a plus-1 plus/minus rating.
For the week, Cammalleri finished with one goal, three assists, four points, 0 PIM, 7 shots and an even plus/minus rating. Cammalleri's 14 points (4g, 10a) lead the Monarchs in scoring.
Monarchs Notables: Cammalleri has scored in five straight games, posting three goals, eight assists and 11 points during the streak.
Steve Heinze saw his six-game scoring streak end Saturday vs. Portland. Heinze had five goals, five assists and 10 points during the streak. Heinze's four-game goal streak also came to an end Saturday.
The Monarchs failed to score on the power play for the first time on Saturday at Portland. The Monarchs registered on 0 for 8 with the man advantage in Saturday's game.
The Monarchs attempted 29 shots in the second period of Saturday's game at Portland. Pirates goaltender Maxime Ouellet stopped all 29 shots.

Saturday, November 2, Manchester 2, Portland 1 (OT)
Portland, ME- It took 50 shots, but the Manchester Monarchs extended their winning streak to six games with a 2-1 overtime win over the Portland Pirates on Saturday at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, ME. The game-winning goal was scored 46 seconds into the extra session by Jared Aulin, who took an offensive zone pass from Derek Bekar and calmly slipped a backhanded shot past goaltender Maxime Ouellet. The goal capped a dominating performance by the Monarchs, who outshot the Pirates 43 to six in the final two periods and overtime.
The Monarchs stretched their unbeaten streak to eight games (7-0-1-0) despite failing to score on the power play for the first time this season. The Monarchs also won despite being held to a season-low two goals in the game.
Ouellet frustrated the Monarchs in the second period as he stopped all 29 Manchester shots triggered against him. The previous high for Manchester shots in a period this season had been 17.
The Portland Pirates converted on an early power play chance to take a 1-0 first period lead. Colin Forbes blasted a shot past netminder Travis Scott at 3:03. Peter Ferraro and Ivan Ciernik set up Forbes for the right point shot.
Mike Cammalleri's highlight reel goal four minutes later tied the game. Cammalleri beat both a Portland defender and Ouellet before roofing a backhanded shot past the goaltender at 7:15. Chris Aldous and Pavel Rosa assisted as Cammalleri registered his team-leading 14th point.
Friday, November 1, Manchester 3, Worcester 2
Worcester, MA -Three power play goals from the Manchester Monarchs proved to be just enough as the club extended its unbeaten streak to seven games with a 3-2 win at Worcester's Centrum Centre against the IcCats on Friday. Eric Healey's power play goal at 17:14 of the third period was the game-winning tally. The goal, Healey's fourth, was assisted on by Mike Cammalleri.
The IceCats, enjoying a power play advantage, pulled goaltender Phil Osaer in the final minute of Friday's game and pressured goaltender Cristobal Huet for the game-tying goal. But Huet's save of a Jason Dawe slap shot with just seconds left sealed the Monarchs win.
For the game, the Monarchs finished 3 for 9 with the man advantage. The IceCats were 0 for 8. The Monarchs and the IceCats each registered second period goals. Mark Rycroft intercepted Huet's clearing attempt from behind the Monarchs net and wheeled around to score into an open net at 5:45. The Monarchs then used the power play to their advantage later in the period as Healey netted his third goal of the season at 16:06 to tie the game at 2-2. Steve Heinze and Cammalleri were credited with assists on the play.
The IceCats netted the first goal of the game short-handed. Blake Evans was credited with the score at 11:57 of period one. Jeff Panzer assisted on the goal.
The Monarchs rallied seconds later, scoring on the power play at 12:33. Heinze extended his team-best goal streak to four games and his personal point streak to six games with the tally. Cammalleri and Healey assisted on the play.
