Wednesday, October 30 Wheeling 0 @ Trenton 3
The Nailers ended the first month of the season with a 3-0 loss in Trenton. It was the first time this season the Nailers failed to score a goal in a game. Trenton took a 1-0 lead at 5:22 of the first period on a Matt Zultek power play goal with Scott Bertoli and Adam Edinger assisting. In the second period Paul Traynor scored from David Schneider and Syl Apps to give the Titans a 2-0 lead. Traynor scored his second goal of the game at 3:52 of the final period to give the Titans a 3-0 lead. The goal was a two-man advantage power play goal assisted by Schneider and Zultek. Wheeling was outshot 41-16 in the game and were 0-for-5 on the power play. Mike Valley made 38 saves in the loss.
Friday, November 1 Wheeling 5 @ Reading 6
The Nailers entered the third game of the season against the Royals having lost the first two. Reading opened the scoring at 3:22 of the first period with an even strength goal against Nailers starting goaltender David Chant.. The Nailers scored two power play goals to take a 2-1 lead. The first goal was at 5:00 scored by Ryan Gillis from Mike Nelson. Michel Ouellet scored the Nailers second goal at 7:31 from Nelson and Darcy Robinson. Before the first period ended the Royals scored two more times to take a 3-2 lead after the first period. Mike Valley replaced Chant after Reading scored their third goal at 14:18. Reading increased their lead to 4-2 with a goal at 13:24 of the second period. Steve Crampton got the Nailers back to within one goal at 19:59 of the second period on a power play goal from Zenon Konopka. Reading took their largest lead of the night at 6-3 by scoring twice in the third period. Crampton and Ouellet each scored their second goal of the game in the third period but the Nailers fell one score short and lost 6-5. Valley made 29 saves on 32 shots and was the goalie of record in the loss.
Saturday, November 2 Toledo 7 @ Wheeling 4
For the third consecutive game the Nailers allowed the first goal and had to play from behind. Toledo scored at 3:50 and 5:08 of the first period to take a 2-0 lead. Arpad Mihaly scored a power play goal at 11:42 of the opening period to cut their deficit to 2-1. Toledo took a two-goal lead at 3-1 at 13:00 of the first. The Nailers again got back to within one goal at 13:55 on a Mario LaRocque even strength goal. In the second period the Nailers fell behind 4-2 before scoring twice to tie the game 4-4. Ryan Gillis scored the Nailers third goal at 1:15 of the second period and J.P. Soucy scored the fourth at 8:02 while on the power play. Toledo scored two more times before the second period ended to take a 6-4 lead. The Storm closed the scoring in the third period with a goal at 7:12 to hand the Nailers a 7-4 loss. Mike Valley made 43 saves on 50 shots in the loss.
Sunday, November 3 Dayton 3 @ Wheeling 2 (OT)
Wheeling closed a seven game in ten night stretch at home against the Dayton Bombers. The Bombers scored first with an even strength goal at 4:47 of the first period. The Nailers tied the game 1-1 on a Michel Ouellet power play goal at 10:44 of the second period. Zenon Konopka gave the Nailers a 2-1 lead with another power play goal at 13:45 of the third period. Dayton pulled their goalie for an extra attacker late in the game and scored to tie the game 2-2. The goal was scored at 18:41 of the third period to force overtime. Dayton won the game at 3:57 of overtime on a goal by Ryan Vince..

Friday, November 8 Wheeling @ Johnstown 7:30p.m.
Wheeling travels to Johnstown for the first of nine regular season meetings against the Chiefs. The Nailers split two preseason games against the Chiefs and will be trying for their first road win of the season.
Saturday, November 9 Wheeling @ Roanoke 7:30p.m.
This is the first of two regular season games against the Express this season with both games being played in Roanoke. The Nailers are 11-18-4 all-time against the Express, including a 1-3-0 record last season.
Sunday, November 10 Cincinnati @ Wheeling 6:00p.m.
Wheeling beat the Cyclones 6-2 in the Nailers home opener on October 13. This is the second of eight regular season meetings against Cincinnati. The Nailers are 34-15-5 all-time against the Cyclones organization, including a 6-2-2 record last season. The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive a miniature Nailers puck key chain sponsored by Whitesides. After the game fans will be able to skate with members of the Nailers team.
Player of the Week
The Nailers Player of the Week is Michel Ouellet. Ouellet scored three goals for the Nailers last week, two of them while on the power play. He also had one assist for the week for total of four points while playing at a â2.
Goaltender of the Week
The Nailers Goaltender of the Week is Mike Valley. Valley and the Nailers went 0-3-1 in four games last week. Valley made 141 saves on 157 shots for a save percentage of .898. He also had a goals against average of 4.18 for the week.
