Augusta Lynx News Release


The Lynx finished up their five game road swing dropping games against Pee Dee and Roanoke.

Traveling to Florence, SC the Lynx took on the Pee Dee Pride Friday, November 1st, losing 6-1. Lynx Defenseman Gary Toor scored early in the second period to record his first goal of the season off an assist from forward Patrick Yetman during a power play. The Lynx out shot the Pride 10-3 during the third period but were unable to rally for the win. Starting goalie Josh Blackburn picked up the loss.

Following the loss in Florence the team traveled to Roanoke, VA to take on the Roanoke Express on Saturday, November 2nd. The Lynx were unable to get on the board and were shutout 6-0. Rookie Lynx goaltender, Geoffrey Faulkner made 22 saves on 28 shots en route to the loss.

The Lynx's season record now stands at 3-7-0.

Player of the Week: Gary Toor made his Lynx debut this weekend after spending the beginning of the season on the Injured Reserve. The Defenseman scored the lone Lynx goal on Friday night against the Pee Dee Pride. Toor spent last season with the Idaho Steelheads of the WCHL, recording nine goals and thirty-seven assists for 46 points in 60 games played.

Goaltender of the Week: Geoffrey Faulkner made 26 saves on 33 shots over the weekend, picking up one loss in the game against Roanoke on Saturday. Faulkner's season record is now 3-3-0.

Monday, November 4: Team Representatives will be at the "Hat Trick for Life" School Assembly Program will be at South Columbia Elementary in Martinez, GA. Players will be speaking on being physically fit during Martinez Elementary fitness class. "Blue Line Report" airing from 5:45-6 pm on Fox Sports Radio 1340 AM. "Behind the Bench Coach's Show" with Kyle Schultz and Head Coach Jim Burton beginning at 7 pm at Cadillac's Fine Food and Spirits located at the corner of Washington and Pleasant Home Roads.

Wednesday, November 6: "Hat Trick for Life" School Assembly Program will be at North Harlem Elementary in Harlem, GA. Team representatives will be present. Players will be attending the ALBC Sponsor Family Dinners in the evening.

Thursday, November 7: "Blue Line Report" with the Mac Daddy Charles McNeil on Fox Sports Radio 1340 AM airing at 5:45 pm. "The Locker Room Report" airs at 8:30 pm on Comcast Channel 4.

Friday, November 8: The Lynx will host the Charlotte Checkers at the Civic Center at 7:35 pm. Sports Juggler Albert Lucas will be providing entertainment during the first intermission. Players will be wearing special jerseys in honor of Veterans Weekend. It is also Church Night and Girl Scout Night.

Saturday, November 2: The Columbia Inferno will travel to Augusta to face-off at 7:35 pm. The first 1000 people at the game will receive US Rally Towels. It will be Boy Scout Night.
