
Royals Move into First in the Northeast Division

Reading Royals News Release
The Reading Royals used the momentum they picked up last week to post victories this week. Friday night in the Sovereign Center, Reading beat Wheeling for the third straight time and second time in less than a week. Saturday in Trenton, the Royals erased a 3-1 deficit in the third period and eventually won in overtime 4-3. Reading finished the weekend on Sunday back in the Sovereign Center and lost in a shootout 6-5 to the Richmond Renegades.
This week the Royals have a relatively light week with games Friday at home in the Sovereign Center against the Dayton Bombers. The game is sponsored by Bethany Children's Home. Saturday the Royals make their first visit of the season to the legendary War Memorial in Johnstown. It is the first battle for the Keystone Cup â Battle of Pennsylvania. Johnstown claimed the Keystone Cup last season in Johnstown.

Friday, November 8 vs. Dayton Sovereign Center 7:05PM
GAME NOTES: The Royals had good success against last season's Northern Conference Champions. Reading posted a 3-2-0 mark. The Royals hosted three of the five meetings and won two in the Sovereign Center. This is the only meeting between the Royals and Bombers this season.
Saturday, November 9 @ Johnstown War Memorial 7:30PM
GAME NOTES: The battle of Pennsylvania for the coveted Keystone Cup went to Johnstown last season. The Chiefs had the Royals number going 6-2-0. Reading's was 2-5-1 versus the Chiefs. Both Royals victories came in the Sovereign Center in Reading. The Royals have never won in the old War Memorial in Johnstown (0-5-0 lifetime).

Friday, November 1 vs. Wheeling Sovereign Center 7:05PM
GAME NOTES: The Reading Royals improved to a perfect 3-0-0 against the Wheeling Nailers this season. Reading held on Friday night to a 6-5 victory. The line of Dan Riva (2g, 1a, GW), Duilio Grande (1g, 2a) and Brian McCullough (3a) led the way for the Royals with a combined nine points. Scott Fankhouser picked up his 3rd straight win in net for Reading.
Saturday, November 2 @ Trenton Sovereign Bank Arena 7:00PM
GAME NOTES: The Reading Royals extended their winning streak to four games with a 4-3 overtime win in Trenton. The Royals erased a 3-1 lead Titan lead heading into the third period. Reading's comeback started with a Matt Snesrud goal three minutes into the third period. Brad Rooney tied the game on the power play with a minute to go 3-3. Brian McCullough ended the game in overtime with his team leading 8th goal this season and 17th point.
Saturday, November 3 vs. Richmond Sovereign Center 5:05PM
GAME NOTES: This battle pitted two teams that were red hot coming into this matchup. Both Reading and Richmond had won four straight and were moving up in the Northeast Division. The back and forth game ended with Richmond winning in a shootout 6-5. Richmond goaltender stopped all five shooters in the shootout to seal the win. Richmond and Reading will meet in Richmond on November 16.
ROYALS PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEE: #51 Forward â Dan Riva 3GP â 2g, 5a 7pts/ even/ GW Riva picked up two goals and seven points in three games. Friday night the Framingham Massachusetts native picked up two goals and an assist including the game winner in a 6-5 win versus the Nailers. Saturday and Sunday Riva tallied two assists in each game in a 4-3 over time win against Trenton and a shootout loss to Richmond.

ROYALS GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK NOMINEE: #30 â Scott Fankhouser 4GP â 2-0-0 record 1.96GAA .939 SV% Team Record: 2-0-1 Scott Fankhouser led the Royals to a 2-0-1 record this week. Fankhouser was in net for wins over Trenton and Wheeling. The Littleton Colorado native led the Royals to a 1st place spot in the Northeast Division. Fankhouser improved his record to 6-3-0 overall.
