
K-Wings Finalize Trade

Kalamazoo Wings News Release
The Kalamazoo Wings of the United Hockey League announce the completion of the trade of Cory Cooper to the Port Huron Beacons. To finalize the trade the K-Wings selected Qamil "Charlie" Elezi (E-LEE-zee) from Port Huron.
In addition to Elezi, the K-Wings also receive Port Huron's 1st and 2nd round draft picks in the 2003 UHL North American Draft.
"He (Elezi) is a quality player, that adds additional size to our lineup," said Director of Hockey Operations and Head Coach Mark Kaufman.
The 6-4, 220 pound forward started this season with Port Huron, however Elezi has played a majority of his career in the Central Hockey League with the Oklahoma City Blazers and the Indianapolis Ice.
In addition to Qamil and the draft picks, the K-Wings will also receive first right refusal an any player the Port Huron Beacons attempt to trade during this season.
The K-Wings will hit the ice for three games this week. The K-Wings will battle division rival the Rockford IceHogs this Wednesday (11/6) night in Rockford. Kalamazoo will then return home to Wings Stadium for two games this weekend. The K-Wings will battle longtime rival the Fort Wayne Komets Friday, November 8th. The first 1,000 fans at the game will receive a FREE K-Wings Harley Davidson Poster courtesy of Perry Harley Davidson and WRCC. On Saturday, November 9th, the K-Wings will host the Muskegon Fury. The game on November 9th, will also feature the Los Angles Laker Girls, as K-Wings and WLKM welcome one of the best know cheerleading/dance troops in the world. The Laker Girls will perform during both intermissions and sign autographs during the game.
