
Storm Chasers' Vinnie Pasquantino Named I.L. Player of the Month

PAPILLION, Neb. - Just days after winning player of the week honors, MiLB announced today that 1B Vinnie Pasquantino has won the International League Player of the Month honors for the month of May.
The 2019 11th round pick by Kansas City out of Old Dominion University started his professional career with Rookie-Level Burlington. Pasquantino split the 2021 season between High-A Quad Cities and Double-A Northwest Arkansas before being added to Omaha's opening day roster to begin the 2022 season.
Pasquantino held a .320 batting average, .393 on base percentage, and a .804 slugging percentage during the month of May. Pasquantino led the league with 12 home runs, 35 RBIs, 27 runs scored, .804 slugging percentage, and 1.197 OPS during that stretch. He also ranked fourth in hits with 31 and doubles with nine.
The 24-year-old homered in consecutive games twice during the month, while finishing the month with three consecutive games with a home run. Pasquantino also hit his second triple of the season on May 29, leading the Omaha Storm Chasers in triples.
The Storm Chasers continue their two-week homestand at Werner Park today.
