Indianapolis Indians News Release

PAPILLION, Neb. - Bligh Madris belted his fourth home run of the season and Cody Bolton fanned a season-high seven batters over 5.0 innings for Indianapolis, but Brewer Hicklen drove in three of four runs for the Storm Chasers as the Indians were handed a 4-1 setback on Thursday night. Omaha now leads the series 2-1.

With the score level at 1-1 and the bases loaded with two outs in the seventh, Hicklen stroked a go-ahead single off lefty Aaron Fletcher (L, 1-1) to score two runs and capture the lead, 3-1. Omaha (26-24) added an insurance run in the eighth on a Nate Eaton sacrifice fly.

Hicklen homered in the bottom of the first inning to give the Storm Chasers a 1-0 advantage. It was the first time in the past nine contests that Indy did not score first.

After being held scoreless through three frames, the Indians (25-25) got on the board thanks to Madris' game-tying longball

Josh Dye (W, 3-1) tossed 2.0 scoreless innings in relief, allowing only one hit and striking out four. He took over for Omaha starter Daniel Mengden who yielded just one earned run on five hits and two walks with seven strikeouts over 6.0 innings.

Hicklen's first-inning home run was the only blemish of the night for Bolton who surrendered two hits, two walks and two hit batsmen to go with his seven strikeouts.

Travis Swaggerty went 2-for-4 for his fifth multi-hit game in his past six contests. Ji-Hwan Bae finished 0-for-4 to snap his career-high on-base streak at 28 games, tied with teammate Canaan Smith-Njigba for the longest on-base streak this season in the International League.

The Indians and Storm Chasers will be in action at Werner Park on Friday night with first pitch slated for 8:05 PM ET. RHP Bryse Wilson (1-0, 6.00) will take the bump for Indy while Omaha has yet to name a starter.
