A Year to Remember for Indianapolis

September 24, 2025 - INDIANAPOLIS - It began with a thud. The Indians traveled to St. Paul to start the 2025 season and were promptly drubbed 11-0 on March 28, their worst Opening Day defeat in 16 years. Then came two lousy-weather postponements, no shocker for late March in Minnesota. They came home to start their 28th full season at Victory Field and were chilled 2-1 by Iowa in 55 degrees, giving up two runs in the ninth inning on a bases-loaded walk and double play. Hunter Barco, MiLB's No. 82 Prospect, Selected by Pittsburgh

September 23, 2025 - INDIANAPOLIS - The Pittsburgh Pirates today selected the contract of left-handed pitcher Hunter Barco, who is currently rated as MiLB's No. 10 left-handed pitching prospect and the No. 82 prospect overall according to MLB Pipeline. Nelson Velázquez Named International League Player of the Week

September 22, 2025 - INDIANAPOLIS - Minor League Baseball today announced that outfielder Nelson Velázquez was named the International League Player of the Week for Sept. 15-21 after totaling five extra-base hits and four multi-RBI performances in last week's series at Gwinnett. He joins Nick Dombkowski as the only Indians' players to win a league weekly award this season and is the first position player to receive a weekly award since outfielder Ryan Vilade also did so in the final week of the 2023 season (Sept. 18-24).
