Preview: Royals Meet Mariners in Maine for First of Three-Straight Face-Offs

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals, proud ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and Lehigh Valley Phantoms, continue a six-game series with the Maine Mariners on Friday, January 19 at 7:15 PM at Cross Insurance Arena.

Royals Right Now:

The Royals hoist a 14-17-1-1 record after falling to the Mainers on Monday, January 15, 4-1. The Royals took the series opener over the Mariners, 1-0, behind Parker Gahagen's 12th professional career shutout before falling the Maine on Saturday, January 13, 6-4.

Matt Brown leads the Royals with 29 points and 18 assists. Forward Ryan Chyzowski leads the team with 12 goals. Gahagen has won five of his last six starts in net for Reading.

Scouting the Mariners:

Maine enters the fourth game of the series at 14-14-5-0 through 33 games this season. The Mariners have earned a point in five of their last six games, and have won four of their last five games overall.

Forward Alex Kile leads the Mariners in goals (22) and points (41). The Troy, Michigan native is second on the team in assists (19) behind team leader Gabriel Chicoine (22).
