Ouellet Becomes 27th Player to move to the NHL

WHEELING, WV - The Wheeling Nailers announce today that the Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled former Nailer's forward Michel Ouellet from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. He is scheduled to play in tonight's game against the Washington Capitals.

Ouellet, 23, ranks second in the American Hockey League in points (29) and assists (19) and currently has a 12-game point scoring streak (9+14), the longest current streak in the AHL.

Ouellet leads Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in scoring and assists and is tied for first with 10 goals in 17 games. He also leads the team with six power-play goals. He will become the 27th former player from the Nailers/Thunderbirds to play in the NHL, which ranks first in the ECHL.

The 6-0, 202 pound native of Rimouski, Quebec started his professional career with the Nailers in 2002-2003. In that season Ouellet appeared in 55 games scoring 20 goals and 26 assists for 46 points, which was good enough for second on the team behind the 26th former player to play in the NHL, Zenon Konopka.

Nailers Add Free Concert to Wednesday's Game

WHEELING, WV - The Wheeling Nailers in association with the Soup Kitchen of Wheeling will be holding a holiday food drive at the game on November 23rd against the Dayton Bombers.

Also, immediately following the game there will be a free concert in The Club featuring the band Twice as Nice. Fans must present their ticket stub for entry into the show.

Fans who donate a non-perishable food item will receive a ticket for the discounted price of $8.00 at the WesBanco Arena Box Office. Please show donated item when purchasing your ticket to receive the discounted rate.

"The Nailers are proud to partner with the Soup Kitchen of Wheeling," said Nailers President Rob Brooks. "The generous support of our fans will make the holiday season brighter for many Ohio Valley families."

The most needed items are canned fruits and vegetables.

Please place all donated items in the appropriate bins at all entrances to WesBanco Arena upon entering the gates at the game. Game begins at 7:00p.m.

All donations are greatly appreciated and needed for the upcoming holiday season.
