Aces' Beckford-Tseu Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Chris Beckford-Tseu of the Alaska Aces is the Reebok
Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for November 14-20. Beckford-Tseu
becomes the first goaltender in 2005-06 to win the award a second time,
having captured the honor for October 24-30.
Under contract to the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League, the
6-foot-3 and 205-pound Beckford-Tseu went 2-0-0 and stopped 47 of 49 shots
to post a goals-against average of 1.00 and a save percentage of .959.
Beckford-Tseu made 27 saves on November 16 in a 2-1 win over Las Vegas,
which entered the game having won six of their last eight games. He helped
Alaska complete its three-game sweep of Las Vegas on November 19 when he
made 20 saves in a 3-1 win.
The 21-year-old is a perfect 5-0-0 at home and tied for the league lead
with a 1.49 goals-against average and is second with a .945 save
percentage. He was named the ECHL Saver of the Month for October after
going 3-0-0 record with a shutout, a 1.33 goals-against average and a .949
save percentage.
Selected in the fifth round (159th overall) by the St. Louis Blues in the
2003 NHL Entry Draft, Beckford-Tseu spent his rookie season in 2004-05 with
Peoria of the ECHL where he was 11-12-3 with a 2.71 goals-against average
and .908 save percentage in 29 games. He also appeared in a game with
Worcester of the American Hockey League and made seven saves in 29 minutes.
The Toronto, Ontario native spent three years with Guelph, Oshawa and
Kingston of the Ontario Hockey League where he had a record of 36-53-6 in
115 games.

Justin Eddy, Utah (2-0-0, 1.50 GAA, .933 save pct.) and Jonathan Boutin,
Johnstown (1-0-0, 1.00 GAA, .966 save pct.).
