Dayton Bombers News Release
Dayton, OH - The Dayton Bombers of the ECHL will collect non-perishable food items at the Ervin J. Nutter Center this weekend. Donations will be accepted on Friday night when the Bombers host the Wheeling Nailers at 7:00 PM, and Sunday afternoon when the Toledo Storm come to town at 2:00 PM. Fans that bring donations will receive $2.00 off the price of an adult silver seat.
All food and donations collected will be given to "The Food Bank of the Miami Valley", which distributes contributions to over 25 locations in the Dayton area.
"This is a great way for us to give something back to the Dayton community," said Bombers President Costa Papista. "We are fortunate to be in a position where we can help people during the holiday season."
The Bombers will also entertain their 2,000,000th fan on Friday night. The franchise, which began operating in 1991, has welcomed a total of 1,996,882 in 14-plus seasons. The lucky fan will receive a pair of season tickets for the 2006-2007 campaign, a team autographed jersey, and will be featured during a ceremonial puck drop.
The Dayton Bombers, proud "AA" affiliate of the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets, are celebrating their 15th Anniversary this season. The Bombers return home Friday, November 25th to host the Wheeling Nailers at 7:05 PM. For tickets and information, call the Bombers' office at 937-775-4747.
