Grizzlies' Christie Completes Two Deadline Trades

West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie completed two trades today prior to the ECHL's 1 p.m. trade deadline. Utah has acquired defenseman James Sanford from the Texas Wildcatters in exchange for Brendan Cook. In addition, the Grizzlies have acquired 6-foot-5 goaltender Ben Gray from the Cincinnati Cyclones in exchange for financial considerations.

Sanford is reunited with Christie whom he played 24 games for with the Peoria Rivermen during the 2004-2005 season. This year, Sanford had two goals and nine assists in 11 games for Texas. Last season, the 22-year-old skated 54 games with the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs logging 10 goals and 18 assists.

Gray went 2-1 with the Cyclones with a 3.67 goals against average and a save percentage of .901.

The Grizzlies return to the E-Center tonight hosting Bakersfield. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
