
Checkers at Trade and Tryon today

CHARLOTTE, N.C - The Charlotte Checkers announced today that they will be at the Independence Center at Trade and Tryon from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. to promote Salute to Heroes Night this Sunday against the Gwinnett Gladiators.
The Charlotte Fire Department, MEDIC 911, CMPD and Sheriff's Office will unveil the team's uniforms. The Charlotte Checkers mascot Chubby will be in attendance and the Zamboni will be on display.
Salute to Heroes Night will help raise money for scholarship programs for each organization. The event will feature a special opening ceremony and Heroes hockey game compiled of players from each group following the Checkers game. All of the jerseys worn by the two competing teams in the Heroes game will be auctioned off following the game. The evening will be capped off by the Checkers traditional Sunday post game skate. In addition to Checkers players, Fireman, Policeman, Medics and Sheriffs will be on hand to skate with the fans.
