'Blades swing deadline deal with Bakersfield

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush, along with head coach Gerry Fleming announced today that the club has traded defenseman Ryan Van Buskirk to the Bakersfield Condors for future considerations.
Van Buskirk had 13 points (1g, 12a) and 64 penalty minutes in 29 games with the Everblades this year. The 27-year-old began the season in the Central Hockey League with Wichita where he notched two assists in 11 games. Van Buskirk was signed by the Everblades on December 5 and picked up four points in his first game with the Everblades on December 8. The tour of duty with the Everblades was Van Buskirk's second, having played in 27 games with Florida in the 2002-03 season when he picked up 15 points.
In addition to the trade, Everblades defenseman Chris Dyment has been recalled by the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League. Dyment, 27, returns to Albany where he began the season playing in six games. The Reading, Massachusetts native was assigned to the Everblades on October 31 and has picked up 17 points (7g, 10a) in 45 games with the Florida this season. Six of Dyment's seven goals came while the Everblades were on the power play.
The Florida Everblades, proud affiliates of the Carolina Hurricanes and the Florida Panthers, return to action on Friday, March 9 when they host the Pensacola Ice Pilots at 7:30 p.m. from Germain Arena.
