Inferno Add Three to Roster, Trade Two

COLUMBIA, SC (March 7, 2007) - The Columbia Inferno has acquired four players and traded two prior to the ECHL Trade Deadline which expired at 3pm today.

The trades involving the Inferno are as follows:

*The Inferno acquired right winger Taylor Raszka for cash from the Toledo Storm.

*The Inferno acquired right winger Kevin Asselin for cash from the Bakersfield Condors.

*The Inferno traded forward Chris Thompson to the Gwinnett Gladiators for defenseman Brian Lee. Lee was then traded to the Stockton Thunder for defenseman Bryan Rodney, who was traded from the Charlotte Checkers to the Thunder. Rodney was traded to the Inferno.

*The Inferno acquired forward Brendan Cook and future considerations from the Texas Wildcatters for defenseman Derick Martin. Cook played for the Utah Grizzlies who was traded to Texas , then traded to Columbia.

Raszka, 6'2, 185 lbs, Petersburg, Michigan native appeared in 32 games with the Toledo Storm scoring two goals, six assists and 23 penalty minutes. This is his first professional season after playing four years in the Ontario Hockey League.

The Acton Vale, Quebec native, Asselin played in 41 games for the Bakersfield Condors contributing 11 points (3g-8a) and 36 penalty minutes. The 6'0, 210 lbs. right winger, previously played in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for five seasons with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.

Rodney, 6'0, 205 lbs., London, Ontario native has played for the Charlotte Checkers for the last two seasons. In 90 games in the ECHL, he scored six goals, 40 assists and 61 penalty minutes. Rodney also appeared in eight games with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League scoring one goal and two assists last season.

Cook, 5'9, 185 lbs., Reston, Manitoba native enters his second season in the ECHL marking the Inferno his third team in two years. In 2005-06 he played for the Pensacola Ice Pilots in 68 games, scoring 42 points (20g-22a). He began this season with the Ice Pilots, only to play 10 games, contributing five points (2g-3a) before playing for the Utah Grizzlies. He scored nine goals and 11 assists in 40 games with Utah this season.
