Milam Named Rookie of the Month

The ECHL announced today that Gladiators rookie Jamie Milam has been named the ECHL Rookie of the Month for February.

Milam posted 3 goals and 10 assists in 12 games for the Gladiators in February. He recorded a +6 plus-minus rating during the month to help the Gladiators go 7-4-3 and remain in the race for the top spot in the ECHL's South Division.

The Lake Orion, Michigan native recorded four multiple point games for the Gladiators and tied a career high posting 3 points and was a +5 for the Gladiators in a 7-4 win at Florida on February 14th.

Milam is ranked second among ECHL defensemen with 17 goals and 10 power-play goals and is tied for seventh among defenseman with 38 points (18g-20a) in 54 games. He is tied for second among ECHL rookies with 10 power-play goals and ranks sixth overall and second among defensemen in scoring on the Gladiators.

Milam played four seasons at Northern Michigan University where he had 98 points (30g-68a) from 2002-06 and was named the recipient of the Ed Ward Most Improved Player Award as a senior at Northern Michigan University.
