Tuesday, March 12
Colorado Pulls Out Third Period Win

In the first of two games at Colorado Springs, the Condors and Gold Kings were deadlocked heading into the third period. Two goals, however, by Colorado within a span of less than a minute and a half pushed them ahead and gave them the lead. Jason Firth and Paul Rosebush scored for the Condors, who led during the second period, 2-1. The loss extended the Condors losing streak to five games.

Wednesday, March 13
Big Comeback Foils Gold Kings

The Condors snapped their losing streak the very next night. Paul Rosebush' s tally with less than a minute to play capped a furious three-goal comeback and gave the Condors a 4-3 win in Colorado. Paul Willett, Jason Firth and Edgars Zaltkovskis also scored for Bakersfield, while Scott Hay recorded the victory between the pipes. With just over 12 minutes remaining in the game, Colorado extended their lead to 3-0, only to have Bakersfield come back. Firth finished the night with three points on the evening.

Friday, March 15
"Cardiac Condors" Come from Behind Again

The Condors fells behind by three goals again, but again stormed back in the final frame. Long Beach took the 3-0 lead in the first period, including scores during the first and last minute of play. Paul Willett chipped away at the lead with the first goal for Bakersfield during the second period. The defense tightened up, and the offense kept working for Bakersfield. In the third, Edgars Zaltkovskis scored for the second time in as many games, and Mark Edmundson scored with 1:39 left in regulation to force the shootout. Mike Buzak and Scott Hay dueled in the shootout, with both teams sending out seven shooters. Buzak didn't budge, while Hay allowed just one, and the Condors suffered the 4-3 shootout loss.

St. Patrick's Day Jerseys Bring Good Luck

Scott Hay turned aside all 22 shots for his fourth shutout on the season, in a 2-0 win over Long Beach on Saturday night at home. The win snapped the Ice Dogs 11-game winning streak, and moved Hay into a tie for the league lead in shutouts. Newcomer Ryan Foster and Jamie Cooke scored for the Condors. Cooke's goal was his third shorthanded tally of the season, and padded the lead with less than five minutes remaining. After the game, the Condors auctioned off their special holiday jerseys to raise money for MDA, and brought in over $18,000.

Condors Clip Ice Dogs Again

Bakersfield closed out their weekend in style with a hard-fought 2-1 triumph on St. Patrick's Day. Scott Hay was back between the pipes, and turned aside 22 of 23 shots in the game. He was supported by a 21-shot, two-goal second period. Paul Willett and Jason Ralph scored for the Condors, who improved to 5-0-3 in their last eight games against Long Beach. Bakersfield finished their five-game week 3-1-1.

This Week
The annual Tip-A-Condor Event is slated for tonight at Wood'ys Grill, Bar & Deck from 5:30-8:00pm. All tips and 10% of all food receipts will go towards Wendi Lund, the girlfriend of Idaho Steelheads winger Derek Paget, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and whose treatment is not covered by insurance.

The Condors host the Tacoma Sabercats for a Fiesta Wednesday game at Centennial Garden. Fiesta Wednesday is sponsored by Univision 39 and Power 102.9. The game starts at 7:00pm.

They travel to Idaho for a two-game set on Friday and Saturday night against the Steelheads. Both games start at 6:05pm PST, and can be heard on KGEO AM 1230, with "Condors Countdown" beginning 15 minutes before game time.

CONDORS NOTES

· Three Condors made their debut this weekend. Ryan Foster registered 1g-1a in three games, Aaron Brand turned in an assist in two games, and defenseman Stefan Katalina appeared in three games, as well.

· The Condors are 5-0-3 in their last eight games against Long Beach. They have just two games remaining against the Southern Division.

· Paul Willett has scored a goal in three of the last four games, and added a point in four of the last five. Jason Ralph also has a point in four of the past five games.

· Scott Hay went 3-0-1 in four appearances this week, including a shutout and 142:18 of scoreless backstopping. In the shootout loss, he stopped six of seven opportunities.
