SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls are closing out another regular season, but have added more community projects. Here's a new list of the upcoming events San Diego will be a part of:

A LOOK BACK: TRIBUTE TO GULLS FANS

"Jerseys Off Their Backs Night" - The fourth annual "Jerseys Off Their Backs Night" was held on March 9. Fans were able to bid on authentic, patriotic Gulls jerseys, with all proceeds going to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. About $9,000 was raised, which brings the grand total (including the last three auctions) close to $37,000

"Tip-A-Gull" - The Gulls held their 11th annual "Tip-A-Gull" fundraiser at Dick's Last Resort on March 10. Approximately $12,000 was raised for United Cerebral Palsy of San Diego County. That's $4,000 more than last year.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

SATURDAY: To increase public awareness of the deaf and hearing impaired the Gulls will hold it's first "Deaf Awareness Night." The event will include a live video feed of an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter signing the National Anthem

MARCH 27: The Hard Rock Café and the Gulls are teaming up to host a dinner benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Fans will be able to meet and greet their favorite Gulls players on a one-on-one setting. Among those expected to attend are Mark Woolf, Dennis Purdie, Samy Nasreddine, Taj Melson, Trevor Koenig and head coach Steve Martinson.

APRIL 2: Jamie Black will be a guest at the Army and Navy Boys Academy in Carlsbad. He will field questions from the students as well as sign autographs.

The Gulls finish their homestand this weekend against the Tacoma Sabercats. They host the Cats Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 5 p.m. Floppy hats will be given to the first 5,000 fans on Saturday. Sunday's game is a Family Day, with "Skate with the Gulls" held immediately following the game.
