LAST WEEK: After losing at home to Mobile on Thursday, the Pride rebounded with back-to-back road wins on Friday at Charlotte and on Saturday at Greensboro. Thursday, March 14 v. Mobile Mysticks 4 PRIDE 2

After falling behind 1-0 through one period, the Pride would take a 2-1 lead on goals by Scott Kirton and Allan Sirois. The Pride only led once all night, but it was when it mattered most. Trailing 4-2 with 10:07 left in regulation, Allan Sirois scored to bring the Pride within one. Less than three minutes later, Peter Geronazzo scored a short-handed goal to tie the score. In the shootout, Mike Torney got the game winner, with David Brumby stopping all four Charlotte shooters.

Saturday, March 16 @ Greensboro PRIDE 5 Generals 2

Dany Bousquet put the Pride on the board just 4:28 into the contest with a breakaway goal. Greensboro tied it on a Jeff Zehr tip-in less than three minutes later. Pee Dee went ahead for good with a Matt Reid power-play goal midway through the period. Allan Sirois led the way with a pair of goals and an assist, while David Brumby turned aside 20 of 22 Greensboro shots.

OTHER NOTES

GAME-WINNER KING

Rookie defenseman/right wing Mike Torney is developing to the Pride's go-to-guy for game-winning goals this season. Of his nine goals this year, five have been game winners. Three of those five game winners have been in the shootout, including Friday at Charlotte. Torney is a perfect four-for-four in the shootout this season.

BOUSQUET, SIROIS EXTEND STREAKS

With a goal and an assist in Saturday's win over Greensboro, Dany Bousquet extended his point-scoring streak to seven games. He has at least one assist in all seven of the games, which is the longest current streak in the league, and is the second longest in the league all season. Bousquet has totaled three goals and nine assists during his seven-game point streak. Allan Sirois scored at least one goal in each of the Pride's three games during the week, including a pair in each of the Pride's wins. He now has 33 goals on the year, which is a team high, and just two short of his career high. Sirois scored 35 goals with the Pride during the 1998-99 season.

NEVER SAY DIE

Pee Dee's come-from-behind win over Charlotte on Friday was the team's seventh win this season when trailing after two periods. The Pride are 7-19-1 when trailing through two periods this season. Those seven wins are the second most in the league. Only Augusta and Louisiana with eight have more wins than the Pride. Three other teams, Atlantic City, Baton Rouge and Charlotte, have also won seven times.
