April 4, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Myrtle Beach Thunderboltz News Release
LAST WEEK: Pee Dee went 1-2-0 last week suffering losses to Columbia and Gwinnett, while also picking up a win over Columbia. Entering the final week of the regular season, the Pride are 30-35-5 for 65 points and are in fifth place in the East Division.
Friday, April 1 @ Columbia Inferno 5 PRIDE 1
After a scoreless first period, Columbia took control of the game, scoring three times in the second period, and then adding a pair of goals in the opening five minutes of the third period. Darryl Green scored the Pride's lone goal of the night midway through the final period. Sebastien Laplante made 39 saves in the loss.
Saturday, April 2 v. Columbia PRIDE 3 Inferno 2
Pee Dee ended its six-game winless streak with a 3-2 win over Columbia. All 10 games in the season series against the Inferno were won by the home team. The Pride got off to a quick start as Allan Sirois and Steve Hildenbrand tallied just 13 seconds apart midway through the first period. Sirois gave the Pride a three-goal cushion with his second of the night 7:47 into the second. Pee Dee would need that goal, as Columbia scored a pair of power-play goals in the third period to make it in a one-goal game. The Inferno had a chance to tie the game in the closing seconds, but Sebastien Laplante came up with the big save to give the Pride the win.
Sunday, April 3 v. Gwinnett Gladiators 3 PRIDE 2
Mike Vigilante scored a pair of goals in the first period, and then assisted on another midway through the second to stake Gwinnett to a 3-0 lead. Gregg Johnson put the Pride on the board with his team-leading 26th goal of the season with four minutes left in the second. Allan Sirois made it a one-goal game early in the third with a shorthanded tally, but the Pride would not get any closer as they were only able to manage five shots in the third period.
