April 4, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Fresno Falcons News Release
Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons will host their first-ever Tip-A-Falcon event tomorrow at the Cattle Rustlers restaurant from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Cattle Rustlers is located at 80 W. Shaw Ave. in Clovis.
Falcons players will wait tables and tend bar throughout the evening, and any tips they make will be donated to the Aaron Tomas Cerna Reward/Medical Fund.
Aaron, whose first coach was former Falcons goaltender Jeff Ferguson, was a Junior Falcons hockey player from 1995-2000. His family then moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., where he became an All-State High School player. Aaron, who just turned 21, was struck by a stray bullet from a random act of shooting in March of last year and is now paralyzed from the neck down.
For more information regarding the event, please call the Falcons offices at 485-PUCK (7825).
NO RESERVATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. DINING GUESTS WILL BE SEATED ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVE BASIS.
The Falcons finish the regular season still alive in the West Division playoff hunt as they battle the Long Beach Ice Dogs at Save Mart Center this Friday and Saturday, Apr. 8 and 9, at 7 p.m. both nights.
Tickets are on sale for both games for as low as $8 per seat and may be purchased directly at the Save Mart Center box office and all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 485-TIXS (8497) or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
Transaction Note: The Falcons signed rookie defenseman Lee Green on Saturday, who just completed a four-year collegiate career playing for the University of Alaska-Anchorage. Green recorded 26 points (8g-18a) and 174 penalty minutes in 137 games played at UAA. He scored a goal during Fresno's 6-3 loss on Saturday to the Alaska Aces in his professional debut.
