THE WEEK AHEAD

Tuesday, April 5th Inferno @ Greenville Grrrowl Bi-Lo Center 7:05pm

The Inferno is 7-0-1 against the Grrrowl this season and 23-6-2 overall. The Grrrowl is in 4th place in the East Division with 77 points (36-27-5). This is the ninth meeting between the Inferno and Grrrowl this season.

Wednesday, April 6th Inferno vs. Greenville Grrrowl Carolina Coliseum 7:30pm

This is the final game between these two teams.

Friday, April 8th Inferno @ Florida Everblades Germain Arena 7:30pm

Florida is in second place in the South Division with 91 points (41-20-9). This is the fifth meeting between the Inferno and Everblades.

Saturday, April 9th Inferno @ Florida Everblades Germain Arena 7:30pm

This is the final game of the season and the fifth between the Inferno and Everblades. The Inferno is 2-2-0 against Florida this season and 14-10-1 overall.

Tuesday, March 29th INFERNO 5 Lynx 2

Eric Boulton scored two goals and Tim Smith had three assists to lead the Columbia Inferno past the Augusta Lynx 5-2. Boulton scored his first goal of the night at 3:15 of the first period on the power play with passes from behind the net by Robin Carruthers and Smith. At 9:52, Boulton rockets a wrist shot passed Jason Saal off of a Smith face-off on the power play. Brad Ralph scored his 26th goal of the season with a top shelf slap shot at 15:34 to give the Inferno a 3-0 lead. Augusta scored at 19:23 on the power play with a goal by Doug Wright. Smith sets up Bryson Busniuk with a cross pass to give him his 13th goal of the season at 7:15 of the second period. Matt Ulwelling puts the icing on the cake with an empty net goal at 19:46 as the Inferno remains in first place with 83 points.

Thursday, March 31st Inferno 2 FLORIDA 3

The Florida Everblades scored three unanswered goals to skate past the Inferno 3-2. The Inferno jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period with two power play goals by Tim Smith and D'Arcy McConvey. Florida outshot the Inferno 19-5 in the second period and notched 2 two goals by David Lundbohm and Paul Cabana to tie the game. Lundbohm scored the game-winning goal at 8:53 of the third period to give the Everblades the 3-2 win.

Friday, April 1st INFERNO 5 Pee Dee 1

The Columbia Inferno remains on top of the East Division with a 5-1 win over the Pee Dee Pride. Columbia scored five unanswered goals starting in the second period at 1:32. Five seconds after a power play ended, Dean Stork recorded his first goal as an Inferno player as Chanse Fitzpatrick and Brad Ralph set him up from behind the net. At 7:49, D'Arcy McConvey picked up an unassisted goal as he scored through the five hole of goaltender Sebastien Laplante. Eric Boulton scored his first of two goals on the night at 18:42 on the power play after Tim Smith passed the puck while lying on the ice. Smith netted his sixth goal of the season at 2:39 off a rebound shot from John Longo. Boulton had the second assist. The fifth and final goal for the Inferno came at 5:04 of the third period by Boulton with help from Longo and Smith. Pee Dee scored their lone goal at 10:05 by Darryl Green. Mike Minard improved his record to 23-7-6 as he stopped 17 of 18 shots on goal.

Saturday, April 2nd Inferno 2 PEE DEE 3

The Columbia Inferno came up one goal short in the third period as the Pee Dee Pride win 3-2. Pee Dee jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead with goals by Allan Sirois and Steve Hildenbrand only 13 seconds apart in the first period. Sirois added his second goal of the game at 7:47 of the second period to give the Pride a 3-0 lead. Eric Boulton scored his 22nd goal of the season, unassisted at 5:40 of the third period on the power play. Brad Ralph added the second power play goal at 11:38 to bring the Inferno to within one but the Inferno came up short.
