Steelheads weekly update

April 4, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Idaho Steelheads News Release

BOISE, Idaho - No John Olver coached team has ever failed to make the playoffs and no ECHL defending Kelly Cup Champion has ever failed to qualify for the postseason.... Those two trends continue as the Idaho Steelheads clinched a playoff spot without playing a game Sunday night. The Fresno Falcons' loss to the Long Beach Ice Dogs Sunday night made Idaho's red hot 20-1-4 record in its last 25 games-played count. The only two variables now are whether the Steelheads will open the first round of the playoffs at home or on the road, and who their opponent will be. With the continuing tight race in the National Conference, West Division, those questions may not be answered until this weekend. Idaho wraps up the regular season with a trip to San Diego (Wednesday) for one game and two in Bakersfield (Friday and Saturday), having playing its home season finale Saturday night at the Bank of America Centre.
