Titans Take two of three in quest for playoff berth

TRENTON, NJ - The Trenton Titans got four out a possible six points as they looked to extend their four-game winning streak and secure a berth in the Kelly Cup playoffs.

The Titans started the week by defeating the Peoria Rivermen for the first time this season with a 4-3 shootout win on Tuesday.

Trenton accomplished another first by downing the Wheeling Nailers 3-2 in their first victory this year at WesBanco Arena.

The Titans failed in their bid to set a season-high seven-game winning streak in falling to the Rivermen 3-1 on Saturday at Sovereign Bank Arena.

The Trenton Titans travel to Dayton to face the Bombers on Tuesday, April 5 at 7:00pm. They then take the ice for their final home game of the regular season on Thursday, April 7 at 7:00pm against the Wheeling Nailers. The Titans finish the regular season on the road versus the Johnstown Chiefs on Friday, April 8 at 7:00pm and the Toledo Storm on Saturday, April 9 at 7:30pm.

Wednesday, March 30 vs. Peoria, W 4-3 (SO)
Sovereign Bank Arena
- Rick Kowalsky and Les Haggett each tallied a goal in the second period against the Peoria Rivermen to help the Titans take a 3-1 edge into the third. The Rivermen would battle back to tie the score on Brian McCullough's 36th of the year and Ed Hill's marker with the extra attacker. After a scoreless overtime, Andrew Allen stopped 3 of 4 Peoria shooters and three Titans converted past Alfie Michaud to clinch the shootout win for Trenton.

Friday, April 1 @ Wheeling, W 3-2
WesBanco Arena
- The Titans scored twice in the third period to break open a 1-1 tie against the Wheeling Nailers. Rick Kowalsky's power play at 3:39 of last stanza and Brent Robinson's even strength goal a minute and a half later made the score 3-1 for Trenton. Cam Paddock answered with a power play goal for Wheeling at 6:29 to cut the Titans' lead to on goal. Andrew Allen made the lead hold up with 25 saves on 27 shots.

Saturday, April 2 vs. Peoria, L 3-1
Sovereign Bank Arena
- Down 1-0 in the third period, Brent Robinson notched the equalizer at 13:34 to knot the score 1-1. Peoria would take back the lead just 1:35 later when Jake Riddle recorded his 11th of the season. Trevor Baker added his second goal of the night, an empty-netter to complete the scoring.

- The final game of the ten-game season series. Andrew Allen is 5-0-0 with a 2.64 GAA against the Bombers this year. The Titans lead the season series 7-1-1 and the all-time series 23-6-2.

Thursday, April 7 vs. Wheeling, 7:00pm - MoneyTalk 1350AM
Sovereign Bank Arena
- The last contest in the nine-game season series. The Titans have won their last two meetings against the Nailers and are 2-4-2 versus Wheeling this year. Allen is 2-1-0 versus the Nailers with a 1.86 GAA and a shutout. The all-time series stands at 11-11-3

- Game ten of ten against the Chiefs. Scott Bertoli has seven goals and two assists in nine games against Johnstown, as the Titans lead the season series 7-2-0 Trenton also leads the all-time series 28-14-4.

Saturday, April 9 @ Toledo, 7:30pm - 91.3FM-WTSR
Toledo Sports Arena
- The Titans' final game of the 2004-05 regular season. The Titans are 6-2-0 versus the Storm this year and 3-1-0 at Toledo Sports Arena. The Titans hold the advantage in the all-time series 19-4-1.
