Atlanta Gladiators News Release
In the Lead: Mike Vigilante posted two goals for the Gladiators in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Pee Dee Pride and now leads the Gladiators in goals scored surpassing Jeff Campbell for the lead. For Vigilante, it was his 29th and 30th goals of the season as he continues to add to his career high for goals in season.
Having A "Fields" Day: Gladiators netminder Sean Fields continues to pick up wins for the Gladiators posting his 20th victory for the Gladiators in a 3-2 win over Pee Dee on Sunday. Fields is now 10-1-1 in his last 12 starts for the Gladiators and has not posted back-to-back losses for the Gladiators since December 30th to January 1st.
Four in a Row! Rookie forward Brad Schell extended his point scoring streak to 4 consecutive games posting 2 assists in Sunday's 3-2 win at Pee Dee. With at least one point in each of the Gladiators past 4 games, Schell ties his longest point-scoring streak of the season at 4 games. Schell has recorded 2 goals and 5 assists for 7 points during the streak.
With the Gladiators: Forward Pascal Pelletier posted his first point with the Gladiators in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Charlotte Checkers. Pelletier came to the Gladiators from the Louisiana IceGators in exchange for forward Peter Flache where he posted 10 goals and 28 assists. With the assist on Saturday night, Pelletier now has 29 helpers on the year.
Just Like Last Year: Kevin Doell picked up right where he left of last season after being assigned to the Gladiators on March 22nd. In 8 games with the Gladiators, Doell has posted a point in all but one picking up 4 points off a 2 goals and 2 assists on Saturday and chipped in 2 assist in Sunday's 3-2 win at Pee Dee. This season with Gwinnett, Doell has recorded 4 goals and 8 assists for 12 points in 8 games.
Lending a Helping Hand: Rookie forward Brad Schell continues to pick up assists for the Gladiators and now ranks 3rd among rookies in the ECHL for assists with 38. He added his 37th and 38th assists of the season in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Pee Dee Pride.

April 1st, Augusta 3, Gladiators 2 â L
Brad Schell scored a goal and picked up an assist while Kevin Doell posted his second goal of the season with the Gladiators but Gwinnett could not get past the Augusta Lynx. Augusta scored twice in the third period for the victory becoming just the third team to overcome a 2nd period deficit and just the second team to pick up a regulation win when trailing after two period. Mike Vigilante finished the game with 2 assists while Rick Emmett also recorded a helper in the loss. Gwinnett out shot the Lynx by a whopping 49-14 margin setting a new team low for shots allowed in a game.
April 2nd, Gladiators 6, Charlotte 4 â W
Kevin Doell posted 2 goals and 2 assists to lead the Gladiators past the Checkers. Joe Bourne opened the scoring in the first period while Doell and Kris Goodjohn extended the Gladiators lead to 3-0 before the first intermission. Mike Stathopoulos scored in the second to push the Gwinnett lead to 4-0. In the third, Charlotte cut the Gladiators lead to 4-2 before Mike Vigilante scored what proved to be the game winner before the Checkers punched in two more late in the third period. Doell's second goal of the night, an empty netter with 38 seconds left in the game iced the contest for Gwinnett. Adam Smyth finished with 2 assists while Stathopoulos also chipped in 2 helpers in the win. Sean Fields made 32 saves in his fourth consecutive win for Gwinnett.
April 3rd, Gladiators 3, Pee Dee 2 - W
Mike Vigilante scored twice in the first period and added an assist on the game-winning goal in the second period to help the Gladiators past the Pride. Kevin Doell scored the winning in the second period off a pass from Vigilante and a great play by Brad Schell to keep the play alive inside the Pee Dee zone. Schell finished with 2 assists while Jim Jackson and Randy Dagenais also picked up assists in the win for Gwinnett. Pee Dee tried to get back into the contest with a goal in the second period and a shorthanded goal in the third but Sean Fields shut down the Pride for the rest of the game finishing the game win 18 saves.

Kris Goodjohn leads the Gladiators in scoring against the Checkers with 8 points while Mike Vigilante has posted 7 goals against the Checkers this season.
Friday, April 8th, vs. Augusta Lynx, 7:35 p.m. â wdun.com
It's fan appreciation night and fans can see the Stanley Cup at the game courtesy of the Gladiators NHL affiliate the Atlanta Thrashers. The Cup will be on display in the main lobby of the Arena at Gwinnett Center until the 2nd intermission. Chris Durno's 11 points leads the Gladiators in scoring against the Lynx this season while Kris Goodjohn has recorded 10 points for Gwinnett against August.

This game is the Gladiators final regular season game of the season. Augusta won the last meeting 3-2 becoming just the third different team to beat the Gladiators after Gwinnett held a lead after 2 periods. The Gladiators are 2-2-0 this season at Augusta.
