Stanley Cup to Appear at Gladiators Regular Season Finale

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that the NHL's Stanley Cup will be on public display at the Arena at Gwinnett Center when the Gladiators host the Augusta Lynx on Friday, April 8th beginning at 7 p.m. courtesy of the Gladiators NHL affiliate the Atlanta Thrashers.

"It's quite an honor to host the most prestigious trophy in not only hockey, but perhaps in all of professional sports," said Gladiators President Steve Chapman. "We are happy to work with the Thrashers to give hockey fans of North Metro Atlanta the chance to see the historic Cup and the names that are inscribed upon it. For both the die-hard fans and the newly initiated, it is a unique experience to see the Holy Grail of hockey."

Part of the festivities surrounding the first international Friendship Cup, a youth hockey tournament being held at the IceForum in Duluth, The Atlanta Thrashers have arranged a special appearance of the NHL's Stanley Cup on April 8-9 in Atlanta. The Friendship Cup youth hockey tournament encourages camaraderie among the participating teams from Atlanta, Florida, Canada and Russia.

The Stanley Cup will be on public display in the main lobby of the Arena at Gwinnett Center beginning at 7 p.m. until the second intermission as the Gladiators host the Augusta Lynx.

The Central Division Champion Gwinnett Gladiators continue their second season at the Arena at Gwinnett Center on Saturday, April 2nd against the Charlotte Checkers at 7:35 p.m. The Gladiators offer several ticket packages for different needs as well as group outings, suites and birthday parties. The Gladiators play all 36 home games at the Arena at Gwinnett Center located on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth and are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers.
