Bakersfield Condors News Release


Upcoming week of October 28th - November 3rd:

· Monday, October 28th - Condors players Andre Allard and Jason Jackman will visit Endeavor Elementary School located at 9300 Meacham Road to award students for their academic achievements as part of the Condors 101.5 KGFM, ARRC Technology, and Paramount Farms Turn Hockey Into New Knowledge (THINK) program. The Condors will be at Endeavor Elementary from 8:30 am - 9:15 am.

· Monday, October 28th - Condors players Jason Ralph and Jonas Lennartsson will visit McKee Intermediate School located at 205 McKee Road to award students for their academic achievements as part of the Condors 101.5 KGFM, ARRC Technology, and Paramount Farms Turn Hockey Into New Knowledge (THINK) program. The Condors will be at McKee Intermediate School from 1:45 pm - 3:00 pm.

· Wednesday, October 30th - Condors Assistant General Manager Chris Freshour will be speaking at the Kiwanis Club luncheon at the North of the River Veterans Hall from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. The Veterans Hall is located at 400 Norris Road.

· Wednesday, October 30th - Join Cal, the Baby Condor, the Condors Slapshot, and Condors players Jamie Cooke and Christoffer Norgren as they celebrate Kern County Museum's Safe Halloween 2002 from 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm. This event provides a wonderful trick-or-treat experience to over 4,000 children and their parents. Kern County Museum is located at 3801 Chester Avenue.

· Thursday, October 31st - Cal, the Baby Condor, the Condors Slapshot, and Condors players Paul Rosebush, Kevin St. Pierre, and David Bell will be at Family Fun Night at Olive Drive Church from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm. The event also features horse rides, live music, animals from C.A.L.M., and over 20 games and booths, all for free. Olive Drive Church is located at 5500 Olive Drive.

· Thursday, October 31st - Join the Voice of the Condors, Kevin Bartl as he hosts the Condors Coach's Show on KGEO AM 1230 AM live from the Holiday Inn Select's Q Street Bistro from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Head Coach Paul Kelly, Jeff Goldie, and Fredrik Jensen will be guests on the show. This weeks show will be a special Halloween edition with a costume contest with prizes for the best costume. The Holiday Inn Select is located at 801 Truxtun on the corner of Q Street and Truxtun.

· Friday, November 1st - Tune in to K-Lite 104.3 FM with the Kenn & Barbie morning show all season long as they present "Breakfast with the Condors". Select Fridays during the season, fans may call in and win a chance to join Kenn & Barbie and select Condors players in the studio on the air. Appearing this week will be Jason Ralph.

· Saturday, November 2nd - Condors Director of Corporate Partnerships, Michael Miller will be taking part of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation annual walk located at Yokuts Park. The walk will take place from 9:00 m - 11:00 am. Yokuts Park is located at 4200 Empire Drive.

· Saturday, November 2nd - "American General Media and David Miller Welding "Free Cover with a Cover" night as the Condors host the San Diego Gulls at 7:00 pm. All fans donating a new or slightly used blanket will receive a FREE terrace level ticket for the evening's game. The blankets will be donated to needy families through Bethany Services. An additional drop point for the blanket donation is the New Life Center 4201 Stine Rd., on the Corner of Stine and White Lane. Also on Saturday, every fan in attendance will also receive a KERN 1410 and Rio Bravo Country Club's Bakersfield's Best Poster. The poster will highlight some of Bakersfield's legendary hockey stars such and Paul Willett, Jamie Cooke, Glen Mears, and Steve Dowhy and more.

· Single-game tickets are available through the Centennial Garden Box Office, which opens at 10:00am Monday through Saturday. Tickets may also be purchased by phone through Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at www.ticketmaster.com or at any Ticketmaster location. Season tickets and group outings may be purchased by calling 324-PUCK (7825), or by visiting the Condors office at Centennial Garden.

Condors Droppings:

· This month's website auction will feature a new home Condors jersey signed by the entire 2002-2003 team. Log onto www.bakersfieldcondors.com to place you did. Proceeds go to benefit the American Red Cross – Kern County Chapter.
