Rookie Shane Bendera made 35 saves to record his first professional shutout and Matt Dzieduszycki scored two short-handed goals as the Dayton Bombers snapped a five-game losing streak with a 6-0 victory over the Toledo Storm at the Ervin J. Nutter Center Sunday night, handing the Storm its first regulation loss.

Mike Renzi scored his first professional goal with 1:18 left in the first period to lift the Dayton Bombers to a 1-0 lead. The Bombers would then explode for three goals in the second. Andrew Williamson, the all-time leading goal-scorer in Toledo Storm history, tallied against his ex-mates at 5:18 of the second, sending a backhander past goalie Doug Teskey after defenseman Mark Jerant's shot was stopped. After Jamie Ling scored from in close at 15:05, Dzieduszycki converted the first of his two short-handed goals with just eight seconds left in the middle period.

Ryan Vince parlayed Fred Slukynsky's centering pass into a goal at 5:36 of the third to make it 4-0, then Dzieduszycki notched his second short-handed goal of the game at 8:29 after a pass from Renzi.

Defenseman Mike Vellinga finished with three assists for the Bombers, while Renzi and Vince each notched two points (1-1). The Bombers killed off all 11 of Toledo's power plays.

Goalie Shane Bendera turned aside 25 shots over the final two periods en route to the win for the Bombers, lowering his league-leading goals-against average to 0.97. Toledo, meanwhile, lost in regulation for the first time in eight games this season.

The Dayton Bombers will be back in action on Friday, November 1 against the Peoria Rivermen.
