Fresno Falcons Have Full Week to Relish Victories

October 28, 2002 - ECHL (ECHL)
Fresno Falcons News Release

The Fresno Falcons had a full week to soak in three straight victories to open their 2002-2003 home schedule. Fresno defeated the Idaho Steelheads twice and the Anchorage Aces once on Oct. 18, 19 and 20 before heading into a stretch of eight full days without any games.

At the time, the victories catapulted the Falcons into a tie for first place, but the week of inaction finds the defending champs in third place in the WCHL with a record of 3-1-0.

NINE-GAME HOMESTAND CONTINUES

After a full week of practice, the Falcons should be geared up to continue the longest homestand in franchise history this week with three games.

The archrival San Diego Gulls visit Selland Arena on Tuesday night at 7 p.m., which is the team's first Carl's Jr. "Two for Tuesday". Fans may visit any local Carl's Jr. restaurant to pick up a two-for-one coupon for Tuesday's game. Fresno then welcomes the Bakersfield Condors to town on Friday, Nov. 1, and the Idaho Steelheads on Saturday, Nov. 2. The first 1,500 fans on Friday will receive a Falcons travel mug courtesy of Pizza Factory, and on Saturday the first 1,500 will receive mini-hockey sticks compliments of the Institute of Technology. Both games begin at 7:30 p.m.

HALLOWEEN FESTITIVES HELP LAW ENFORCEMENT

The Falcons will wear special edition Halloween jerseys tomorrow night during their clash with the Gulls. The team will then auction off the jerseys following Saturday's game against Idaho with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Crime Stoppers and the Rick Grimsley Trust Fund. The auction will take place at the El Torito Restaurant on Tulare and R Streets in downtown Fresno.

The team is also encouraging fans to dress up for Halloween on Tuesday. Any fans in costume will be rewarded with free candy from See's Candies.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE

The Falcons will hold their pre-game skate tomorrow at Selland Arena at 10 a.m. They will then practice at Gateway Ice Center on Wednesday and Thursday at 10 a.m. each day before returning to Selland for pre-game skates on Friday and Saturday at 10 a.m.
