Edmonton Oil Kings News Release

Edmonton, AB - It all comes down to one day for the Edmonton Oil Kings scouts: Draft Day. Scouts work around the clock traveling around Western Canada and the U.S.A. watching thousands of kids play hockey in hopes of finding the talent to suit up in an Oil Kings jersey someday.

Today, General Manager Bob Green, Assistant General Manager Randy Hansch and their scouting team gathered at the Fantasyland Hotel for the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft armed with the second pick overall and drafted 10 players.

"We feel we selected a number of bright, talented kids with a wide array of skillsets," said Green. "We were fortunate enough to not only pick Curtis Lazar, but we also coveted Mason Geertsen and moved up with Everett so we were assured to get him.
