Last Week in Review:

The Stingrays had a record of 2-1-1- last week and managed to stay in first place in the Southeast despite the absence of several key players. On Tuesday, South Carolina grabbed a 3-2 lead in the first period in Augusta and held on the rest of the way to win by the same score. The Stingrays started the game with 16 players and finished with 14 due to injuries to Ryan Brindley and Marty Clapton. The following night the Stingrays dropped a 4-3 decision to the Greenville Grrrowl and lost Jeff Boulanger in the process. On Friday, South Carolina lost its first shoot out of the season, 2-1 in Greensboro. Rod Taylor had his first goal as a Stingray in the win. The team finished off the week by topping Greenville 4-3 at home.

Team Notes:

South Carolina's win over Augusta snapped a two game road-losing skid. The Rays are now 6-3-1 on the road after beginning the season 5-0. The Rays are in first place in their division due in part to the fact that they have a 12-4 record against Southeast Division opponents. South Carolina is 5-1 against the Southeast on the road and 7-3 at home. The Stingrays have scored just two power play goals in their last five games and seven power play goals in their last ten games. The team's power play is now 15th in the ECHL at 17.8%. The penalty kill is 14th at 82.2%. The Stingrays have a record of 8-0-1 when leading after the second period. November was the busiest month of the season for the Rays; the team finished the month at 8-7-1.

Kirk Daubenspeck continues to lead the ECHL in wins. He has a record of 13-5-1. The Stingrays signed the ECHL's all-time leading goal scorer last week. He has two goals and an assist in four games for the Stingrays. Matt Desrosiers and Aaron Schneekloth continue to be productive from the blue line. Both have 14 points on the year.
