
Teddy Bear Toss brings in 4,654; Shoe Collection Tuesday

Upcoming week of December 2nd - December 6th:
· Monday, December 2nd â Condors staff will be assisting the United Way of Kern County with the inventory and tagging of stuffed animals collected during the Saturday, November 30 "Teddy Bear Toss" game. The inventory and tagging of stuffed animals will take place at the Boys and Girls Club, located at 801 Niles Street.
· Tuesday, December 3rd â The Condors play host to the visiting San Diego Gulls as 1230 AM KGEO and Tel-Tec Security present the Condors annual "Gotta Have Sole" Shoe Drive to benefit Bethany Services. Fans brining a pair of new or gently worn shoes for donation to Bethany Services receive free terrace level admission. The game is also the second T.H.I.N.K. (Turn Hockey Into New Knowledge) night of the season. Students from area schools were awarded with tickets to tonight's game for exceptional performance.
The T.H.I.N.K. program is sponsored by 101.5 KGFM, Paramount Farms and ARRC Technology. Also, fans showing their Bakersfield Californian Press Pass at the ticket windows receive $2.00 off regular ticket prices for any game in December, limit two (2) tickets per Press Pass. Single-game tickets are available through the Centennial Garden Box Office, which opens at 10:00am Monday through Saturday. Tickets may also be purchased by phone through Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at www.ticketmaster.com or at any Ticketmaster location. Season tickets and group outings may be purchased by calling 324-PUCK (7825), or by visiting the Condors office at Centennial Garden. The doors open at 6:00 pm, the puck drops at 7:00 pm.
· Wednesday, December 4th â Condors Assistant General Manager Chris Freshour and Alternate Captain Jamie Cooke will be at East Hills Mall Center Court from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm for a luncheon with the Bakersfield City School District's Educational Foundation. The foundation will be making a donation of Teddy Bears to the Condors as part of the Teddy Bear Toss event held on Saturday, November 30. East Hills Mall is located at 3000 Mall View Road.
· Wednesday, December 4th â Condors players Jason Ralph and Jonas Lennartsson will be at Evergreen Elementary School from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm for a T.H.I.N.K. (Turn Hockey Into New Knowledge) program appearance. The Condors T.H.I.N.K. program is sponsored by 101.5 KGFM, Paramount Farms and ARRC Technology. Evergreen Elementary is located at 2600 Rose Marie Drive.
· Wednesday, December 4th â Condors players Guy Dupuis and Fredrik Jensen will be at Horace Mann Elementary School from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm for a T.H.I.N.K. (Turn Hockey Into New Knowledge) program appearance. Horace Mann Elementary is located at 2710 Niles Street.
· Wednesday, December 4th â With Thursday as a travel day for this weekend's games in Anchorage, the Condors Coach's Show will be held a day early, from 6:00pm to 7:00 pm at the Holiday Inn Select, and can be heard live on 1230 AM KGEO. Condors Head Coach Paul Kelly and Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations Kevin Bartl will be joined by Condors Alternate Captain David Bell and rookie Center Nate Anderson. The Holiday Inn Select is located at 801 Truxtun Avenue.
· Friday, December 6th- Cal, the baby Condor and Condors Ticket Sales Manager Jose Rivera will be participating in the Delano Christmas Parade from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The parade begins at the Delano Ranch Market located at 8th and Main Street and travels through downtown Delano.
Week in Review, November 25th â December 1st:
· Saturday, November 30th â The Condors held the 4th annual "Teddy Bear Toss" game at Centennial Garden, sponsored by CBS-29, KERN 1410 and Home and Leisure Superstore, as they defeated the Long Beach Ice Dogs 3-0. Fans were encouraged to bring a new Teddy Bear or other stuffed animal to throw onto the ice when the Condors score their first goal of the game. A total of 4,654 Teddy Bears and stuffed animals were collected and will be donated to underprivileged children this holiday season through the United Way of Kern County.
