Vojtech Polak opened the scoring at 16:00 of the first period for Iowa when he tipped home a Dan Jancevski shot in front of the San Antonio net. The power-play goal was Polak's 12th goal of the season and the only first period goal.
San Antonio's Steve Gainey tied the game at one just :33 into the second period. Less than two minutes later, Kyle Brodziak gave Iowa a 2-1 lead. Polak picked-up his second point of the game with an assist.
Mike Bishai evened the score at two with this 11th tally of the season. The power-play tally came at 3:45 of the third period. Captain Dan Jancevski needed just three seconds into a Stars power-play to register his sixth goal of the campaign when his wrist shot from the blueline sailed past Rampage goalie David LeNeveu. The goal proved to be the eventual game-winner. Toby Petersen extended his points-streak to four games with an assist.
