TORONTO - The Philadelphia Phantoms turned in their best power play performance of the season Friday night, scoring four goals on seven opportunities while holding off the Toronto Marlies for a 6-3 victory at Ricoh Coliseum.

The Phantoms took a 2-0 lead into the first intermission on a pair of power play tallies. Tony Voce struck first when he fired home a one-timer off a pass from Stephen Wood at the 6:09 mark. Then at 17:14, Stefan Ruzicka wrested a puck from the left point that buckled and knuckled its way past Jean-Sebastien Aubin.

Philadelphia's third man-up goal came at 12:14 of the second on Ruzicka's second of the night. It was followed by Toronto's first goal of the game, which came on Brendan Bell's shot from the left circle at 15:20. Jamie Storr caught a piece of the puck, but it rolled over his shoulder and trickled over the line for a 3-1 game at the end of the second period.

Toronto pulled within a goal at the 4:12 mark of the third period on the first of two goals by John Pohl. Slaney scored Philadelphia's fourth power play goal at 7:43, only to have Pohl close it back within a goal with his second of the night at 11:56.

But the Marlies would get no closer. Brent Kelly came down the right side and roofed a puck over Aubin at 15:18 to make it a 5-3 game, and then Matt Ellison closed out the night with an empty-netter at 19:19.

Storr took the win with 38 saves on 41 Toronto shots, while Aubin absorbed the loss with 29 saves on 34 shots faced. Ruzicka registered an assist along with his two goals to earn first-star honors. The four power play goals established a season-high for a single game.

Philadelphia will continue its road trip with a stop in Hamilton on Saturday night to take on the Bulldogs at 7:05. The Phantoms return home to the Wachovia Spectrum to host the Hartford Wolf Pack on Dollar Dog Night this Wednesday night at 7:05. As always, kids tickets for all Phantoms games are just $8.00.
