Wilkes-Barre/Scranton gets three from Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned forward Shane Endicott to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on a two-week conditioning assignment, and have loaned forwards Krystofer Kolanos and Peter Taticek to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, it was announced on Wednesday.

Endicott, 24, has appeared in 34 games with Pittsburgh this season, recording two points (1+1) and 37 penalty minutes. He missed the first 20 games of the season recovering from a high ankle sprain suffered in training camp, and has also missed nine games this season with a groin injury.

The 6-4 and 211-pound native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan spent the past four seasons with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, and ranks fourth on the team's all-time points list with 164 (73+91) in 294 games. He was drafted by Pittsburgh in the second round (52nd overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

Kolanos, 24, was acquired by Pittsburgh from the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday, along with Niklas Nordgren and a second round choice in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft for right wing Mark Recchi on Thursday.

He has appeared in 15 games this season with Edmonton and Phoenix, recording three points (2+1) and four penalty minutes. In 22 games in the American Hockey League with San Antonio and Lowell, Kolanos recorded 22 points (10+12) and 40 penalty minutes.

The 6-3 and 206-pound native of Calgary, Alberta has played in 115 NHL games with Phoenix and Edmonton, recording 35 points (17+18) and 76 penalty minutes. He was originally drafted by Phoenix in the first round (19th overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

Taticek, 22, was acquired from the Florida Panthers on Wednesday in exchange for defenseman Ric Jackman on Thursday. He has appeared in 44 games this season with the Houston Aeros (AHL), recording 30 points (9+21) and 10 penalty minutes. In three games with Florida, Taticek went scoreless.

The 6-3 and 195-pound native of Rakovnik, Czech Republic was drafted in the first round (9th overall) by the Florida Panthers in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
