Hogs Host Peoria

April 10, 2009 - American Hockey League (AHL) - Iowa Chops News Release

Rockford, Ill.- It's fan appreciation night at the Rockford MetroCentre as the Rockford IceHogs take on the Peoria Rivermen at 7:30 p.m. in Rockford's final regular season home game of 2008-09.

The IceHogs are looking for a win or an overtime or shootout point to secure a playoff spot for the fifth straight season. Tonight's contest could prove to be a possible playoff preview as the Rivermen need just one point to secure home-ice advantage in the upcoming Division Semifinals.

Threes are wild in the Rockford IceHogs season record against their rivals from central Illinois. The Hogs are 3-3-0-3 against Peoria including a 0-3 record in the shootout. Against the rest of the American Hockey League, the Hogs are 10-3 in the shootout.

The Rivermen come into the MetroCentre as one of the hottest teams in the AHL. Peoria is riding 6-0-0-2 streak that has pushed them from outside of the playoff picture to the second spot in the West Division.

Register on the upper concourse before the end of the second intermission for a chance to win. Then listen for your name during the third period to find out if you are a winner and then join the team on the ice after the game to pick up your jersey.

Also the first 1,000 fans at the game will get a Patrick Kane Bobblehead and the first 2,500 will get a team photo courtesy of Johnson Press.
