Albany Devils News Release

LOWELL, Mass. - The Lowell Devils completed the home portion of the regular season in fine style with a 3-2 shootout win over the Hartford Wolf Pack on Friday night at the Tsongas Arena. Tyler Eckford notched the deciding goal in the bottom half of the seventh to give Lowell the victory.

With the game knotted, 1-1, going into third period, Matt Halischuk gave Lowell its first lead of the game when he muscled in a loose puck on the near post at 2:18. Brad Mills had the assist on the marker, his second of the night.

Hartford would force an overtime period when a centering pass from the near boards deflected off a skate in front and past Jeff Frazee with just 2:11 remaining in the third. Bobby Sanguinetti was given credit for the goal that evened the match, 2-2.

After a scoreless overtime, Frazee was able to stop three of the first five shooters for the Wolf Pack, while Eckford and Ryan Murphy beat Hartford goalie Miika Wiikman. In sudden death, Frazee turned away two more shots from Hartford, before Eckford's second shootout goal clinched the win.

The Wolf Pack went up 1-0 at 4:39 of the second period as Brodie Dupont went crashing toward the Lowell crease and put back the rebound of Artem Anisimov's wrist shot.

The Devils took only 27 seconds to tie the score on Patrick Davis' 13th goal of the season.

Frazee stopped 33-of-35 shots through overtime for his 28th victory of the year.
