Friday March 7th
Wheeling 3 @ Reading 5
The Nailers traveled to Reading for the final regular season game of the season between the Nailers and the Royals. The Nailers entered the game 0-4-1 against Reading in the first five games of the season series. Wheeling took a 1-0 lead at 16:01 of the first period on a Bobby Russell goal with Michele Ouellet assisting. Ouellet increased the Nailers lead to 2-0 at 19:48 of the opening period with Zenon Konopka and Mario Larocque assisting. In the second period the Roylas scored two goals in the first minute of play to tie the game 2-2. Geoff Peters scored at 25 seconds for the first Reading goal. Brad Rooney tied the game at 2-2 27 seconds later with a goal at 52 seconds. Reading took a 3-2 lead with a power play goal at 7:42 of the second period. Mat Snesrud scored the goal with Simon Tremblay and Peters assisting. Before the second period ended the Nailers tied the game 3-3 on a Dmitri Doulebenets goal from Mark Major and Steve Crampton. Reading broke the tie and took the lead for good at 15:51 of the third period on Rooney's second goal of the game. Peters scored his second goal of the game on an empty net goal at 18:58. Tyler MacKay made 33 saves on 37 shots in the loss.
Saturday, March 8
Trenton 3 @ Wheeling 2 in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton
This was the second of four regular season games against the Titans with Trenton winning the first game 3-0 in Trenton on October 30. The Titans scored a pair of power play goals in the first period to take a 2-0 lead. Marco Charpentier scored the first goal at 15:22 from Shaun Fisher and Vince Williams. Scott Bertoli gave Trenton a 2-0 lead at 19:44. Steve O'Brien and Tyler Beechey assisted on the score. Neither team scored in the second period and the Nailers entered the third period down 2-0. Michel Ouellet scored the Nailers first goal while on the power play to cut the Nailers deficit to 2-1. J.P. Soucy and Mario Larocque assisted on the goal. Bobby Russell tied the game for the Nailers at 17:40 of the final period with a shorthanded goal. Larocque picked up the only assist on the game tying goal. Trenton would score with one second remaining in regulation for the win. Mike Hurley scored the goal from O'Brien and Bertoli. Mike Valley made 26 saves on 29 shots in defeat.
Sunday, March 9 Cincinnati 2 @ Wheeling 3
Cincinnati came to Wheeling for the final time of the season with the Nailers on a four game losing streak. Neither team scored during the first period of the game with the Nailers outshooting the Cyclones 12-10. In the second period the Nailers got two goals from Mario Larocque to take a 2-0 lead. The first goal was a power play goal at 10:45 from Matt Elich and J.P. Soucy. The second goal was scored at 13:01 with a delayed penalty coming against the Cyclones. Bobby Russell and Soucy assisted on the goal. In the third period the Nailers increased their lead to 3-0 on a Michel Ouellet goal at 7:40. Zenon Konopka and Russell assisted on the goal. Cincinnati made it a one goal game with two goals 28 seconds apart. The first goal was scored by Brent Twordik at 11:46 of the third period from Joe Cardarelli and Kevin Bergin. The second Cyclones goal was scored at 12:14 by Matt Noga from Cardarelli and Bergin. Tyler MacKay made 42 saves on 44 shots in the Nailers win.

Wednesday, March 12 Wheeling @ Charlotte 7:05p.m.
The Nailers travel to Charlotte for the only time this season for this game. The Checkers will not make an appearance in Wheeling this year so this will be the only contest between these teams for the season.
Friday, March 14 Wheeling @ Roanoke 7:35p.m.
The Nailers take on the Express for the second time this season, both games in Roanoke. The Nailers won the first game in a shootout on November 9.
Saturday, March 15 Wheeling @ Lexington 7:30p.m.
The Nailers play the first of three remaining games against the Lexington Men-O-War of the season for this game. The Nailers are 3-1-1 against Lexington this season.
Sunday, March16 Wheeling @ Lexington 6:00p.m.
The Nailers play their final regular season game in Lexington to close out a four game road trip. The two teams will play each other one more time in Wheeling before the regular season ends.
Player of the Week
The Nailers Player of the Week is Mario Larocque. Larocque had five points in three games for the Nailers last week and played at a +4 in the +/- category. He had two goals and three assists during the week.
Goaltender of the Week
The Nailers Goalie of the Week is Tyler MacKay. MacKay went 1-1-0 during the week. He had a 3.01 goals against average and a .926 save percentage by making 75 saves on 81 shots.
