
'Gades Continue Nine-Game Road Trip this Week

Richmond Renegades News Release
The Richmond Renegades are 30-29-4 after going 0-1-1 last week. The âGades are in seventh place in the Northeast Division, 11 points behind Trenton and the final Northeast playoff spot. The âGades continue a nine game road trip this week. They do not return home until the final weekend of the regular season.

Tuesday, March 11 @ Trenton 7:00 PM
GAME NOTES: The seventh of eight meetings and the third of four in Trenton. Richmond is 4-2 against the Titans, 1-1 at Trenton. The âGades have won four straight in the season series. Lars Pettersen has eight points vs. Trenton. Adam Edinger has six points vs. Richmond.
Friday, March 14 @ Charlotte 7:30 PM
GAME NOTES: The eighth of nine meetings and the fifth and final at Charlotte. The âGades are 2-3-2 vs. the Checkers and 0-2-2 in Charlotte. The âGades are winless in their last four vs. Charlotte. Brad Church and Lars Pettersen each have six points vs. Charlotte. Four Checkers have seven points vs. the âGades.
Saturday, March 15 @ Columbus 7:00 PM
GAME NOTES: The first ever meeting vs. the Cottonmouths and the only meeting of the season. Columbus, GA is in their second season in the ECHL. They are the re-activated Hampton Roads franchise. The âGades are 5-5 vs. Southeast Division clubs, 0-4 on the road.

Friday, March 7 @ Roanoke LOSS 7-3
GAME NOTES: The âGades jumped out to a 3-0 first period lead but Roanoke rallied back for seven unanswered goals. David Brosseau scored twice for Richmond and Daniel Goneau had a goal and two assists. Cam Bristow had two goals and two assists for Roanoke, including the game winner.
Saturday, March 8 @ Charlotte LOSS 2-1 (SO)
GAME NOTES: The âGades earned their first point on the road since January 3. Jon Zion tied the game with a power play goal early in the third period. Doug Christiansen gave the Checkers the lead with a second period goal. Charlotte went 3-4 in the shootout. The âGades out-shot the Checkers 52-40.
'GADES NOTES: The âGades are 0-1-1 on a nine game road trip. The âGades snapped a 10 game road regulation loosing streak with a shootout loss at Charlotte Saturday. Richmond is winless in their last 13 road games (last road win 12/28 at Wheeling). The âGades five game winning streak ended Friday at Roanoke. The âGades have won seven straight home games by a combined score of 32-13. The club record for consecutive home wins is eight during the â92-'93 season. The âGades 24 home wins is the most in the league. That equals the third highest total in club history with two home games remaining (the club record is 27 in â95-'96. Richmond won 25 home games in â94-'95, and 24 in â98-'99). Their six road wins is fewest in the ECHL. Garret Stroshein remains on re-call with Portland of the AHL. He is the seventh âGade to be called up this season. Of the 18 players on Richmond's current roster, 12 have played in the AHL/IHL. Five have played in the AHL this season. Jon Zion has points in three straight games. Lars Pettersen and Brad Church had seven game scoring streaks end Friday. Marc Magliarditi has started seven straight games. Magliarditi has moved past Jeff Salajko into sixth place on the ECHL career wins list with 133. His next target is ex-Renegades goaltendter Sandy Allan who is fifth with 137. The Renegades had played 27 straight games without an overtime prior to Saturday. The âGades have lost their last four overtime/shootouts after winning their first seven. The âGades are 22 for their last 23 on the penalty kill. Richmond's 52 shots Saturday were a season high. The âGades allowed 40+ shots on goal both Friday and Saturday, marking the first time this season that the âGades have given up 40+shots in back to back games. The âGades have 10 former NHL draft picks on their roster. Daniel Goneau is tied for 12th and Lars Pettersen is tied for 134h in the ECHL in points. Goneau is tied for third in plus/minus at +32. Jon Zion is tied for seventh in scoring by defensemen and leads the league in points by rookie D-men. Leon Hayward leads the ECHL in shorthanded goals by rookies (4). Marc Magliarditi is fifth in the league in minutes played and is tied for third in shutouts (3). The âGades are the least penalized team in the ECHL. They are fourth in penalty killing (83.5%), tied for third in shorthanded goals (14), and seventh in fewest shots on goal allowed (30.4 per game).
