Mississippi Sea Wolves News Release
BILOXI, Miss. â The Mississippi Sea Wolves won two of three games last week and remain in first place in the Southwest Division by three points over second place Louisiana.
On Wednesday, Mississippi fell 5-4 at Baton Rouge. The Sea Wolves bounced back by slipping past South Carolina, 3-2 in overtime on Friday. Then on Saturday, Mississippi doubled Pensacola 6-3 at the Wolves Den.
After 63 games, Mississippi's overall record is 38-21-4 for a total of 80 points. The Sea Wolves have won eight in a row at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum and are 22-7-3 at home. Mississippi is 16-14-1 on the road.

Game 10 of 12 in the regular season head-to-head meetings. Mississippi is 5-3-1 against Arkansas this season. Through four of six games at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, the Sea Wolves are 2-1-1 against the RiverBlades.
The Sea Wolves have won the last three games between the teams. The last meeting saw Mississippi outlast Arkansas 3-2 on March 1 at the Wolves Den. Dave Paradise scored the game-winner for the Sea Wolves. Greg Gardner made 34 saves for the win, outdueling Scott Fankhouser.
Steffon Walby leads the Sea Wolves with 10 assists and 15 points against the RiverBlades. Walby is also tied with Dave Paradise in goals versus Arkansas with five.
Buddy Smith has a team-high 11 assists and 14 points against the Sea Wolves. Jason Bermingham leads the way with five goals versus Mississippi.
Mississippi's all-time regular season record against the RiverBlades through 30 games is 18-9-3.
The Sea Wolves all-time home record against Arkansas at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum is 6-4-2 after 12 games.

Game 11 of 12 in the regular season head-to-head meetings. Mississippi is 8-1-1 against Jackson this season and leads the battle for the Nextel Cup, 17 points to 4. Through five of six games at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, the Sea Wolves are 5-0-0 against the Bandits.
The Sea Wolves have won the last four games between the teams, including the last meeting, 4-1 at the Wolves Den on January 19.
Steffon Walby leads Mississippi with nine goals and 16 points against Jackson this season. Jim Baxter has a team-high 11 assists versus the Bandits.
Jeff Bes is tops with four goals and eight points against Mississippi. Bes is also tied with teammate Andrei Lupandin with four assists versus the Sea Wolves.
Mississippi's all-time regular season record against the Bandits through 35 games is 22-9-4.

Game 11 of 12 in the regular season head-to-head meetings. Mississippi is 6-3-1 against Pensacola this season. Through four of six games at the Pensacola Civic Center, the Sea Wolves are 2-2-0 against the Ice Pilots.
Jim Baxter leads Mississippi with 12 assists and 14 points against Pensacola. Steffon Walby is the team leader with six goals versus the Ice Pilots.
Louis Dumont is tops for Pensacola with 10 assists and 11 points against Mississippi. Gregor Baumgartner leads the way with five goals against the Sea Wolves.
The Sea Wolves all-time regular season record against the Ice Pilots through 54 games is 36-15-3.
Mississippi's all-time regular season record against Pensacola at the Wolves Den after 29 games is 21-6-2.

Player of the Week:
Forward Cody Bowtell picked up six points last week, registering two points in each of the three games. The 5-foot-11 and 190-pound native of Wainwright, Alberta picked up two assists in the loss at Baton Rouge. The veteran tallied two goals including the game-winner in overtime against South Carolina and added two helpers in the victory over Pensacola. Overall this season, Bowtell has scored 22 goals, collected 28 assists for a total of 50 points in 49 games.
Goaltender of the Week:
Greg Gardner collected his seventh consecutive win and added to his team-record, by notching his 27th victory in Mississippi's 3-2 overtime win against South Carolina on Friday. The 6-foot and 190-pound native of Mississauga, Ontario turned away 40-of-42 shots against the Stingrays. Gardner has also appeared in a 47 games this season, which is also a Sea Wolves team-record for goaltenders. He has posted an overall record of 27-14-4, 2.67 goals against average and .921 save percentage.
Injured Reserve:
Defenseman Chris Cava is on the 7-day injured reserve. Goaltender Mike Buckley and defenseman David Cornacchia are still on the 30-day IR.

The last regulation loss the Sea Wolves suffered at home was on December 20 against Louisiana.
