March 10, 2003 - ECHL (ECHL)
Myrtle Beach Thunderboltz News Release

LAST WEEK: Pee Dee went a perfect 3-0-0 last week, raising its overall record to 35-23-5 for 75 points with just nine games remaining in the regular season. The Pride are tied with Florida for third place in the Southeast Division, and trail second-place South Carolina by four points and first-place Columbia by nine points.

Thursday, March 6 v. Dayton PRIDE 5 Bombers 3

Dayton got off to a quick start as Ryan Vince scored just 1:22 into the contest. The Pride scored three unanswered goals, taking a 3-1 lead midway through the second period. The Bombers pulled within one on a Torrey DiRoberto goal at 15:09 of the second, only to see the Pride take a 4-2 lead on Dan Carriere's second goal of the night 2:18 into the third. Once again, Dayton got within one on Vince's second of the night at 6:21, but an empty-net goal by Wes Goldie with 40 seconds left iced it for the Pride. It was Pee Dee's first win in regulation since February 12 at Augusta.

Friday, March 7 v. Columbus PRIDE 1 Cottonmouths 0

Mike Torney's unassisted goal 7:44 into the second period was all the offense the Pride would need in picking up their sixth consecutive home victory. Ron Vogel registered his third shutout of the season, second against Columbus, making 22 saves. It was Pee Dee's first 1-0 win since October 12, 2001 against Charlotte.

Saturday, March 8 @ Columbus PRIDE 5 Cottonmouths 1

Pee Dee completed its weekend sweep with a convincing 5-1 win at the Columbus Civic Center. Allan Sirois scored with 29 seconds left in the opening period, and Mike Glumac added his 31st of the year 1:17 into the second giving the Pride a 2-0 lead. J. J. Hunter pulled Columbus within one at 15:09 of the second, but Glumac scored his second of the game just 17 seconds later giving the Pride their two-goal lead back. Pee Dee enjoyed a number of power plays in the third period as Columbus picked up 111 penalty minutes in the final period. Mike Torney and Kyle Kidney scored power-play markers in the final 20 minutes to set the final.
