THE WEEK AHEAD

Thursday, March 13th vs. Pee Dee Carolina Coliseum 7pm

Columbia is 4-2-1 this season against the Pride and 8-4-3 all time. This will be the eighth meeting between the two teams. Pee Dee is tied for third place with 75 points in the Southeast Division.

Friday, March 14th vs. Columbus Carolina Coliseum 7pm

This is the last time these two teams meet this season. The Inferno is 5-2-0 against the Cottonmouth this year and 11-4-0 all time. Columbus is in seventh place in the Southeast Division with 50 points.

Saturday, March 15th @ Augusta Richmond Civic Center 7:35pm

The Inferno is 5-3-0 against the Lynx this season and 7-6-3 all time. Augusta is in sixth place with 51 points in the Southeast Division. This is the last time the Inferno will face the Lynx this year.

LAST WEEK

Friday, March 7th COLUMBIA 5 Greenville 2 @ Columbia

For the second game in a row, the Inferno came out strong. Columbia scored five goals by the end of the second period to notch their eighth win against the Grrrowl this season. Sean Owens scored on the power play at 4:53 of the first with passes from Tim Smith and Chris St. Croix. Defenseman Corey Hessler scored his 17th goal of the season at 1:45 of the second period with Owens and Shawn Wansborough on the assists. Two minutes later, Barrie Moore scored on the power play lifting the Inferno to a 3-0 lead. Robin Carruthers and St. Croix had the assists. Wansborough netted the next two goals at 7:10 and 18:03 of the second period as the Inferno led 5-0.

Greenville did not go down without a fight. John Nail and Tyler Deis scored for the Grrrowl in the third period as the Inferno were scoreless but won the game 5-2. Goaltender Josh Blackburn stopped 19 of 21 shots for his 15th win of the season.

Saturday, March 8th COLUMBIA 2 Dayton 1 @ Columbia

Shawn Wansborough scored the two goals and Tim Smith assisted on both as the Inferno win 2-1. Wansborough's first goal came at 8:46 on the power play of the first period with passes from Smith and Sean Owens. After a scoreless second period for both teams, Wansborough scored his 19th goal of the season at 17:29 of the third period with assists to Trevor Demmans and Smith. The Bombers scored with only 1:33 left in the game. Goaltender Josh Blackburn stopped 27 of 28 shots to record his 15th win of the season. The Inferno had 48 shots on goal and went 1 for 3 on the power play.
