Monarchs Celebrate Millionth Fan

March 9, 2004 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Manchester Monarchs News Release

MANCHESTER, NH – The Manchester Monarchs, the AHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have played host to over 995,000 fans (including playoffs) at the Verizon Wireless Arena in just under three years. They'll welcome their millionth fan to the arena on Wednesday night when they host the Springfield Falcons at 7:05 p.m. Thanks to bar coding technology, the Monarchs will be able to identify their millionth fan the moment he or she enters the arena. The millionth fan will later be revealed during an announcement at the midway point of the first period.

Once revealed, the millionth fan will be invited to the Monarchs suite along with his or her guests. He or she will also receive a pair of Monarchs season tickets for the 2004-05 season, a team autographed stick and a $100 gift certificate for the Monarchs Pro Shop.

The prize package also includes a chance to meet his or her favorite Monarch after the game, a Zamboni ride during the first intermission and an interview with Ken Cail, the voice of the Monarchs, on the Monarchs Radio Network.

As if that wasn't enough, the lucky winner will also be able to take part in a ceremonial puck-drop when the Monarchs host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at 7:35 p.m. on April 2 as part of Fan Appreciation Night.

Help the Monarchs (30-21-6-5, 71 points) celebrate their millionth fan on Wednesday night. Plenty of good seats remain for this evening of fun. Visit the Monarchs on-line at www.monarchshockey.com for ticket information.
