Houston, TX – The Minnesota Wild has acquired left wing Jordan Krestanovich from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for Chris Bala, the teams announced Tuesday. Krestanovich has been assigned to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League.

Krestanovich, 22, (6/14/81) has 19 points (4-15-19) and 11 penalty minutes in 38 games with the AHL's Hershey Bears this season, and he has appeared in 14 games with the Avalanche with six penalty minutes. Krestanovich has career NHL totals of two assists and six penalty minutes in 22 games with Colorado. In three seasons with Hershey, the 6-foot-1, 170-pound native of Langley, B.C., has 87 points (29-58-87) and 53 penalty minutes in 176 games. Krestanovich was Colorado's fifth-round pick (No. 152 overall) in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut on March 19, 2002, against the Washington Capitals. Krestanovich is a product of Calgary of the Western Hockey League, where he earned the Hitmen's award for most sportsmanlike player in 2000-01.

Bala, 25, (9/24/78), acquired from Nashville for Curtis Murphy last summer, posted 18 points (7-11-18) and 18 penalty minutes in 61 games with Houston.
