Blues Send Goalie to IceCats

WORCESTER, MA – St. Louis Blues Senior Vice President/General Manager and Worcester IceCats General Manager of Hockey Operations Larry Pleau announced today that goaltender Curtis Sanford has been reassigned by the Blues to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate in Worcester.

The 24 year old Sanford is currently in the midst of his second full season with the IceCats where he has accumulated a record of 12-10-1, a .914 save percentage and a 2.32 goals against average. Three of his wins this season have come via the shutout, including a 1-0 decision over division rival Portland last Wednesday. His overall IceCats totals reflect 81 games played with a record of 38-28-10.

The Owen Sound, Ontario native appeared in eight games with the Blues last season, posting a record of 5-1-0 and a 1.96 GAA and .912 save percentage. He made his first NHL start while collecting his first career NHL victory on October 19th, 2002 versus Dallas.

The IceCats are on the road for four games beginning Wednesday, before returning to Worcester's Centrum Centre for a 7:05 face off with the Houston Aeros and Portland Pirates on Wednesday and Friday, respectively.
