April 5, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Worcester IceCats News Release

WORCESTER, MA – The Worcester IceCats are proud to announce that Jeff Hoggan has been named the IceCats winner of the American Specialty/AHL Man of the Year award for his outstanding contributions to the Central Massachusetts community and charitable organizations during the 2004-2005 season.

Hoggan, in his first season with the IceCats, was an eager volunteer. He participated in a host of community activities. Tonight, in fact, Hoggan will be reading books to children at the Millbury Public Library at 6:00 PM.

In recognition of his efforts, Hoggan will be presented with an etched crystal trophy during an on-ice presentation prior to an upcoming IceCats home game.

Hoggan is now one of 28 finalists for the 2004-05 Yanick Dupre Memorial Award, honoring the overall American Specialty/AHL Man of the Year. The league award is named after the former Hershey Bears forward and AHL All-Star who died in 1997 following a 16-month battle with leukemia.

The IceCats return to action tomorrow night at home against Hartford. The DCU Center action begins at 7:05 PM. For tickets and information call 800-830-CATS.
