April 5, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Edmonton Road Runners News Release

The Edmonton Road Runners have announced forward Jean-Francois Jacques has signed an Amateur Tryout Agreement for the remainder of the 2004-05 season.

Jacques, the Oilers' second round draft choice (68th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, just completed his fourth season with the Quebec Major Junior League's Baie Comeau Drakkar. In 69 games this season, the Drakkar captain scored 36 goals and added 42 assists for 78 points.

The 6'4", 214-pound forward lead the Drakkar in most offensive categories this season, including goals, assists, points and shorthanded goals. His 36 goals also ranked him ninth among all QMJHL goal scorers. Jacques will be arriving in Edmonton tomorrow (Wednesday) night and will join the Road Runners for their Thursday morning (9:00 a.m.) practice at Rexall Place.
